The Pruner can deliver up to 1,100 cuts per charge with a 1-1/2 in. cut capacity for thick stems and shrubs. Weighing just 3 lbs. (tool only), this lightweight tool was designed to help you tackle tough jobs throughout the day with less strain. This unit requires 16X less effort on average to make cuts than a manual pruner. The on-board LED provides illumination for visibility in dark spots as you prune. New favorite tool for yard work

I was skeptical if I actually needed this or not but I gave it a shot. Needless to say I’m glad I did, this thing is amazing! Was looking for something to break down branches and trees too small to justify using a chainsaw on. Sure, you could use normal pruning shears or loppers and brute force everything but I used this to cut down a few 1-2” diameter trees and prune a few others. This made it super easy and took no time at all. You can easily cut multiple smaller branches at once if you’re breaking them down as well. It’s sharp and durable enough that I even used it to cut up smaller stumps from some of those small trees and this thing made it easy. Battery life is great, super durable and honestly worth every penny, especially if you already have Dewalt batteries. Overkill for gardening but worth it for everything else ... show more

These pruning shears area amazing! It made quick work of clearing an area behind my shed. What I expected to take hours took 30 minutes. I run it with a DeWalt 20V Max 6Ah battery. After clearing the brush behind the shed I pressed the battery power remaining button and it showed the battery still had a full charge! The build quality seems excellent, same as my other DeWalt tools. It cuts through everything I threw at it within a second or so each. I got it here on Amazon for $30 less than Home Depot, so it was a great deal. The manual loppers I've used for years have one advantage: this pruner looks like it could easily do some serious damage to a finger if you aren't careful. I don't see any way they can make it safer without making it useless, but don't let your kids use this thing! ... show more

Tree trimmer

If you have limbs that need trimming this is the perfect yard tool for that. It's not for cutting trees down unless they are small about a inch and a half in diameter. It cuts them like butter. Keep your fingers away because it is very powerful. This one does not come with a battery. I have other Dewalt tools so I used the battery I already had. It's a manageable weight. ... show more

Fantastic Tool

I’ve looked at similar tools to this, but never purchased one. What really sold on it is the Dewalt name, As I already have Quite a few DeWalt tools and the batteries to go with them it fits right in. Originally, I primarily bought this for my wife, but since I got it, I have used it like mad on all my guarding projects and it has been Very efficient and a great time saver, I have used it to trim trees, trim, branches, and it will go through some serious width branches probably even a bit more than it was designed for, but it works. One major thing it has over simple manual shears is fatigue on your wrist and hand. All of that disappears with this and you can do a whole lot more work in the same timeframe. I used it one day from early in the morning until late in the afternoon with hundreds if not thousands of cuts and it was still going strong on the same battery. The thing seems to go through everything. I even used it to trim some PVC pipe. With that in mind, my only caution about this is that yes it goes through EVERYTHING you need to be extremely careful where your support hand is and not get any of your fingers in the way. With a handheld manual clipper if you happen to get your hand or finger in the way, you could feel it and stop. This will not, it’ll just go through whatever is in its jaw. I had one very close call where I got a little too close and it took off the tip of my glove thankfully, my finger wasn’t in it, but it taught me a very valuable lesson about keeping your support hand clear. I did read in another review someone commented on the blade being chipped or damaged. After a couple days of very hard use, yes the blade was was chipped and had definite signs of use. I purchased an additional blade swapped it out. I put the original blade in my vice and took a file to it, and it came out. Perfect all ready to go again. I highly recommend buying that second blade so you can swap it out as I did. Great overall tool and I wish I had had it years ago. ... show more

Zero Disappointment

This is my second purchase of this pruner. If what you are wanting to prune fits into the blade - it will cut it. The blades are sharp and stay that way for a long time. I wore my first pait out but the blades were still sharp. Powerful stroke. Saves me from getting hand cramps when I have a lot to do. I have other tools that use the same battery - so an easy purchase. My first pruner essentially stripped a gear I used it all the time for two years. Same model. As easy as nail clippers to operate!!!

I am completely amazed with this product! I have other Dewalt tools so I already had the battery ready to go. I opened the package and within an hour and a half I had pruned three trees that were too low to mow under. It functioned exactly as promoted. I first seen it on the Blessing Boys on U-tube. This is a great tool. My wife now has 3 of these on her palm tree farm and she loves them. They are a little heavy. They are built well and they work well and for a pretty long time on the smallest battery. That helps with the weight. So battery life is good. They can cut some pretty big branches. The price is reasonable. We tried the lower priced look a likes and even though they are lighter they do NOT work as well. We would give this item 5 stars BUT the one BIG draw back is on the label it says "keep out of the rain". And they mean it!!!! If it gets wet, even a little it will stop working. So far we have been able to use fans and compressed air along with WD40 to get them back working. We believe most of the issue is in the trigger. ... show more
