I’m really impressed with these shears! I had seen them recommended in a gardening video and was convinced to try them. I had some native shrubs that needed pruning so some lighter foliage as well as woody stems and these made the work so much easier!     • Quality Hedge Shears That Make Trimming Easier
I work as a freelance gardener and sometimes that means trimming a hedge. I don't use gas powered tools. Prior to purchasing these Okatsune shears, I owned a very basic and somewhat heavy set of shears and I didn't particularly enjoy hedge trimming. All of that completely changed after I bought these shears. Firstly, as a female gardener, these are really enjoyable to use because they are incredibly light weight and nimble so there is absolutely no arm or back fatigue using these as opposed to using heavier shears. Secondly, they are super sharp and trimming with them results in a beautifully precision cut hedge. Thirdly they allow me to get my work done faster. This works great! Very sharp, and lightweight. Long enough that I can snip at weeds without having to get on my knees. Very precise, can snip a single blade of grass with no problem. Use it to trim weeds around the base of certain shrubs rather than use a weed whacker, which damages them. Love how it looks, it's a beautiful tool. ... show more

    • Very sharp. High quality steel. Tears through shrubs and bushes.
Used this extensively to cut back and shape my boxwoods, rhododendrons, and other decoratives. It is not designed to cut through limbs of more than 1/2 inch although I bet it could. Maintenance is easy -- I plan to sharpen at the start of each season. Nothing else to really think about. I am so happy to have replaced my electric trimmer -- with these the job is only marginally slower with far greater precision and control. My unreliable power trimmers which are heading to the trash! (Tool off a star due to price only -- could be 10-15% less.) ... show more

Lightweight, very sharp, and high quality. First time out these did an outstanding job trimming various hedges and bushes. Definitely worth the extra money if you use one of these fairly regularly to keep your gardens in shape.
