I am so glad I picked this one! I looked at all of them and this one really appealed to me. It was a great choice. I read all the comments for all the different ice machines, good and bad when I was trying to decide… which helped me in my decision and I think will help me make my ice machine last for a very long time. I suggest you do that for handy tips. It’s very easy to use. I plug it in and pour about 3/4 of a gallon of distilled water in the well. And it immediately starts making the ice. When I get a glass full or more of ice in the basket, I shake the basket so water sheds off the ice and then put the ice in a gallon freezer bag. The machine is NOT a refrigerator… so the ice will melt if you just leave it in there. So important to bag it as you go and freeze it. When I take the bag out of the freezer to add more ice, I break the ice up in the bag before I add more ice - generally just hitting the bag on the countertop does the trick. Then repeat as I add more ice. That keeps the nuggets of ice broken up. Using distilled water keeps minerals from building up in the machine. The ice is very soft and ice nuggets a perfect size. When it is through making the ice, I unplug the machine, remove the small excess water at the bottom by scooping it out and then dry the inside for storage. No trouble at all. It is so quiet that sometimes I forget I have it running. I bought it as a Mother’s Day gift to myself and I absolutely love it. Highly recommend it.

I purchased this in September of 2022. Loved it at first. It was easy to use, and a nice little luxury since we never had an ice maker before. In November, I went to do the regular cleaning and noticed black stuff in the ice basket. It was not mold; it was something very greasy and would not wash off easily even with soap and water. I thoroughly cleaned the unit; the black stuff didn't reappear, but a puddle of water showed up under the unit, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little, but when the puddle dried it left behind a lot of white crystalline stuff. Since we used only reverse osmosis water in it, that shouldn't have been happening because the water doesn't contain a lot of minerals. I called the support line to see if they could help me diagnose the leak thinking maybe something just pulled loose when I was cleaning it. They first offered to just replace the unit stating it had a one year warranty, but sorry, they claimed to have none in stock with no idea when it would be back in stock. That's a red flag. Then they offered to send me one through Amazon, but claimed it was out of stock on Amazon. (It is not at this time). They then offered me a full refund, which I am currently waiting for. The support person was very nice, and I have no complaints about the support call, but I am disappointed. I am left with a $400 piece of refuse which I will have to find a place to recycle, probably for a fee. I thought this was a reputable brand, but I think like so many other things, it is just factory made in China and branded with the Mueller name. You can find other mystery name brands that look identical. Maybe I just got a lemon. If I purchase another one and have no problems with it, I will update this review. My one recommendation if you do buy this unit would be to spend the extra $11.52 and buy the extra 5 year warranty. It was really nice while it lasted, but it only lasted 2 months. Update: 3/30/23 The replacement for our original ice maker purchase has been working well now for 3 months. It has a louder hum than the first one so I stuck a magnet on the side and that quieted the vibration. The original defective unit got a new home with a handy guy who repaired it with a new o ring and some new screws. Update 11/25/2023 The second unit (the replacement) always made more noise than the original one, (which was repaired and is still going strong). After one year of use and regular cleanings, the second unit started making a squealing noise. Then it stopped working altogether, always stuck in the defrost mode. I have called customer support because is it still under the 1 year warranty which is not published in the manual, but was the stated warranty from customer service when I called last year about the first unit. No one is available at the customer service number. I had purchased the extended warranty, so will be using that. I can no longer recommend this unit. Update 12/2023 The contact info in the owners manual is incorrect, but I was eventually able to contact the manufacturer and it was replaced under the one year warranty. When this one dies, I will look for another brand.

I previously owned the "big name" nugget ice maker (Opal), which was $$$$$$. It only lasted a bit over a year!!! And for the company to tell me that the device was "beyond repair" cost me $125. What a scam. We love our nugget ice so I decided to go with a different manufacturer. I chose this one based on reviews and comments about the quality of customer service. I have only had this one a few days but WOW! What a difference already!! It is sooo much quieter than the Opal!! And when the basket is full, unlike the opal, the whole thing goes quiet. The only time the Opal was quiet was when it was unplugged or completely turned off (I. E. Vacation). This machine is making more ice, more quickly, and is quieter! Win win win! It is slightly taller than the Opal, so we had to choose a different spot in the kitchen for it, but that's ok for the multiple benefits of this machine. Additionally, the main water area of this one is the same size as the extra water tank on the Opal, so no more extra tank and easier to fill with water. AND, although we only use filtered water in it, It has ability to connect directly to a water source. That was not an option with the Opal. All in all, we are totally in love with this one!!

The media could not be loaded. In my house we are ice people! I mean ice all day everyday!! This Ice machine produces the ice fairly quickly. I have had it for about 9 months and it has not failed me yet. I have received many compliments on it I also shared my link for purchasing it. You do have to clean it once a week and that takes about a good 15-20 minutes. You can stretch it out to two weeks but in order for your ice to stay fresh I would not encourage waiting more than two weeks. I used to have the ice trays because I do not have an ice maker in my refrigerator. I love this product and so far I have not had any issues. I posted a picture of when I started this review of the ice and I posted a video of where it was when I was done so you can see how fast the ice is made. If something does go wrong I will update my review. I hope this helps you make a decision. I love this ice maker and I hope it lasts me for years to come.
