Decided to get this so that we can have more than 3 game consoles hooked up at once. Unfortunately it was causing my PS4 to continuously disconnect and reconnect from my TV. Couldn't figure how how to make it stop and therefore the PS4 had to be plugged directly into the tv again to work properly. I have 2 of these MT-VIKI 4K@30Hz HDMI Switcher 5 in 1 switches. Switching from one HDMI port to another is way easier with this remote than the TV remote. I have put the TV remote aside , but keep it handy in case of emergency. The sound is handled by the Sony receiver.

The Good: The HDMI jacks are properly located in the back. The Ugly: The power input is awkwardly on the front. If you are burying the box and only using the remote, you won't care. If you want to use the unlit push button, you will find the power cord in your way. The Awkward: Also note that when switching this unit scans all 5 ports, even when some are not connected. This is mildly annoying. I have 3 inputs. So switching from 3 to 1, means pressing 3X times. I found another unit with 4 ports to limit this, only to be pleasantly surprised that it skips over empty ports, and has the power input on the side. I was hoping to find one with all of the jacks in the back, but have not found one. ... show more

Pros: Turns 1 hdmi port into 5. Small Easy to use (now my wife won’t ask me to unplug cables to get her devices connected) Easy to set up Cons: Overheats Roku within minutes of turning it on Power cable is hooked on at front of unit USB power connection, but no outlet connection option provided (I connected to gaming consoles for this reason) Remote unnecessary, didn’t seem to have battery in it Quality material but cheaply thrown together I bought 3 since we have 3 tvs with several devices hooked up, easier than manually unplugging cables between devices when tvs only have 2 hdmi ports ... show more

It does what it says it does. And you don't really need the power adapter that comes with it but it's a good back up. I am VERY happy with this thing. I have 5 consoles hooked up to my 2nd monitor and it hides nicely. The remote is a + since you don't need it as well. It detects which one has power and switches to it. Love it! ... show more

I have an older television with only 2 HDMI outlets that I wanted to connect a b!yeah player and several video game systems to. This switcher seemed the perfect answer- sort of. If you power up the units one at a time the switcher works great switching automatically. However, if all units are powered at the same time the remote control and the led indicators may or maynot function. Unless I am interpreting the very brief instructions incorrectly, I would consider this a major problem. But even with this issue the unit works perfectly as a manual switcher and whichever system I turn on pops up automatically on my monitor. No noticeable loss of picture or sound. ... show more
