Description

Compact and keenly priced—but with the professional tone, feel, and features to improve your drumming fast—the TD-07DMK is the entry point to the V-Drums TD-07 series. While the pads are smaller than the kits higher up the range, you’ll appreciate the satisfying feel from the PDX-8 snare and three PDX-6A toms, all featuring Roland’s ultra-quiet, double-ply mesh heads. The compact CY-5 crash and ride cymbals let you play with expression where space is tight, while a stand-mounted kick pad helps create the TD-07 range’s smallest footprint to make the perfect home kit. Despite the compact size, you can still think big thanks to creative features that stretch beyond any acoustic kit. Call up authentic drum kits covering a range of styles and genres, and use deep tone editing tools to customize sounds just how you like. There’s also an onboard Coach mode to help you learn, Bluetooth® connectivity so you can play along with music streamed from your phone, tablet or computer, and USB to connect with computer-based recording software.

  • A great hobby kit
Style: Kit Pattern Name: All Mesh Head kit
I did a lot of research to figure out exactly what I needed, and the TD07 kit didn't disappoint. The smaller footprint and relatively quiet pads are perfect for living in a shared apartment. The kit was pretty easy to set up, and provides all the tools, instructions, and cables you need. The control system works as expected, with a good selection of kits and sounds, and the bluetooth connects to my phone every time without a problem. I plug my headphones (standard 3.5mm headphone jack) into the system when I play, and both the kit sounds and bluetooth music have good quality with no noticeable latency. The drum and cymbal pads themselves are Roland's most basic sizes, but they're still top-quality with a realistic feel. Additionally, you can easily upgrade with larger pads or cymbals as needed, and the system allows for one extra input (you can use it to add an additional pad/cymbal, but I used the extra input to replace the ride cymbal with the CY-13R so I could play the bell). The only downside is the kit doesn't include a kick pedal or drum throne, so you'll need to purchase those separately (as well as drum sticks - I recommend plastic tip sticks to reduce wear on pads), and you'll need a USB type B cable if you want to connect the kit to your computer (not required). Happy drumming! ... show more

Easy to place together with excellent instructions and the quality of the sound along with the alternative sounds that it comes with is nothing less than excellent. More than expected on a product such as this for the price. If your going to get one of these,,, this model and brand is the one you want without a doubt. ... show more

  • So far so good
Style: Kit Pattern Name: All Mesh Head kit
The sounds aren’t too bad. being able to play into the computer through midi and really change/ tweak the sounds afterward is nice for recording too. The dynamics and playability are really a lot better than most e-drums out there. I’m thinking about eventually upgrading to the vh10 hihat to put on a regular stand and use the one provided for the extra cymbal. I like being able to get an actual crash sound just by hitting on the end of the ride, I’m guessing you can turn that off when adding the extra cymbal and get more of a wash out of the ride tho. If not I may have to upgrade the ride eventually too. I might also upgrade the snare and exchange the provided bigger snare pad to the floor Tom. All works fine as is tho. I like the smaller size of the pads and don’t find them clumsy. The td07 module meets all my needs. sometimes the hihat pedal isnt the most accurate when trying to splash and play more intricate beats, but just the fact that you can even do that with it is a step up from most. If I had the money now I would have bought a kit that already has the upgrades I mentioned. ... show more

  • Great Kit, Horrible Hi-Hat Controller
Style: Kit Pattern Name: All Mesh Head kit
I'm very pleased with the kit overall, as a first time drummer who's been banging on a practice pad for a little bit. My criteria for a good enough starter kit was "makes me excited to play drums every day, doesn't teach me bad habits" and this definitely hits the spot. It's packaged very well, the hardware feels sturdy and high quality, the sounds are good enough (though if I'd tasted the ambrosia of a real acoustic kit, it seems like I might disagree). One minor complaint is that the kick trigger being mounted directly to the stand means the whole stand will slowly slide forward and rotate counterclockwise (if you're a righty) unless you add a sandbag or a weighted blanket or something else to stop it from sliding. The ride cymbal on the right will also mistrigger occasionally if it's mounted too close to the center of the stand, since it's catching some vibrations from the kick. This isn't SUCH an issue though, and I knew what I was getting into with the kick when I got this thing instead of the KVX. What I'm LESS okay with though is the hi-hat controller (The included one is the FD-1, which Roland will not even sell you a la carte because it's such a piece of garbage). It sucks. It has a gummy feel, it wobbles everywhere, it has a lot of "play" to it (not like playing the drums, but as in it moves side to side when it should be moving up and down only). The spring tension is way too low. It's horrid. Does not spark joy at all. I'm rating the kit 4/5 instead of 5 because I can tell already that the hi-hat controller is going to hold me back from learning proper hi-hat technique because it's so horrible to use that timekeeping with the left foot feels like it simply won't be possible. I've ordered a different Roland pedal (the FD-9 is what I settled on, since it seems like the 8 has a lot of issues people don't love) to go with the kit, which I'm sure is their plan, and I'm not happy about it. In my opinion, the FD-1 pedal isn't nearly fit to be included with a kit of this quality. It's a waste of my money and it's a waste of perfectly good electronics (which have been tacked onto the world's cheapest hardware). If you order this kit you should absolutely plan on having to shell out two hundred more dollars for a pedal that's actually fun to play with. ... show more
