Above the center trackball are keys for switching between log and offset color correction, as well as a key to display DaVinci Resolve’s full screen viewer, which is great for use with laptops. Eighteen dedicated keys on the right side also give you access to the most commonly used grading features and playback controls. DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel is perfect for independent editors and colorists that need a truly portable solution, great on set to create looks and evaluate color and lighting, ideal for quickly grading video in broadcast trucks, great for education and much more! Use it one time and you'll never want to color grade without it again. It speeds up your flow considerably, and for reasons I wasn't necessarily expecting. Yeah the color tools themselves are great, but having easily accessible buttons to move from node to node and clip to clip, play/stop/reverse, grab stills, etc is just crazy efficient. I have a dedicated grading monitor, but for those of you who are using a single display, having a dedicated button for the full screen viewer and then being able to grade in full screen will be huge for you. The main reason I bought this was because it came with the davinci studio license, which I needed to buy anyways. So in my mind, I really spent $559 on a tool that I literally use 7 days a week at times. The only critique I have, which I saw mentioned in another review, is that the knobs along the top of this panel don't have backlighting. I'd be lying if I said that wasn't slightly annoying. I'm sure with a ton of use muscle memory would kick in, but that hasn't happened yet so I have to look down every time. If anything though, that just means I'll probably sell this someday and upgrade to the mini panel when that jump can be justified. ... show more

Incredible build quality (it better be for the price). Very solid, metal construction with weighted balls for great feel while color grading. It is taking some time to get used to coloring with it and it took some work to figure out how to make space for it on my desk but I’m enjoying it as a luxury item. Definitely not required but enjoyable to use ... show more

So this panel is great for very basic color corrections, but the mini panel is so much more useful that this is hard to recommend. I know the Mini panel is much more expensive, but the micro panel is very limiting in ways. For example, there is no add serial node button, you cant adjust curves, power windows, etc. On top of that you cant use any of the ring dials as a jog wheel in the edit mode - but neither can the mini panel. With that said, it's still a really well built device. For basic color correction it is fine, but I have a feeling most that would want this would be better suited with the mini panel and will out grow this very quickly. If you do buy the micro panel - you will need to use a mouse, shortcuts, and keyboard quite a bit still - since this is only good for basic primary corrections. ... show more
