  • Expensive for a reason!
Size: 65 Inch
This is hands down the best solution to the lighting. It accurately depicts what is happening on the screen and washes the walls with those colors in a dense, vibrate gradient. I don't think you can not mention the price here, which has already been spoken about a million times. It is a steep barrier for entry. However, Philips Hue has consistently pioneered the smart light industry since the very beginning, and are the reason you can find so many cheap alternatives today. If you have the money and want the best experience possible, this is it. If not, you can always go with another brand, and for the everyday person will most likely achieve the same thing. That being said, if you are already in the "Hue Ecosystem," this is a very nice addition. Syncing with your TV aside, it is also a very nice accent light to have without turning on "The Big Light." This versatility is really nice because it applies to many different situations. Not just wanting colors to match your TV haha. The installation was actually very easy for something I assumed would be tedious and annoying. You just peel, stick, and hold for about 30 seconds then line up the light strip with the brackets. I have had these for about a year now, and I haven't had to restick once. I have never had any outright connectivity issues where the lights wouldn't sync or turn on. I will say there may have been two-ish times I have had to repair the sync box to my app, but that was only when I got a new phone, or downloaded the app on my tablet. Being able to add the lightstrip to your room, separate from the sync box is a plus too because you can integrate it into your other smart lights within that zone or room and link them all together. Pulling this out the box you can tell the quality is too tier and doesn't feel like flimsy knock off. That goes for the sync box itself too. The chassis is very well made along with the HDMI ports on the back as well. Another plus to this that I don't see very often is it double as an HDMI switcher. This very handy when tvs nowadays may only have 2 or 3 HDMI ports but you have more than that many devices you want to hook up like a receiver, apple tv, or game console etc. The setting within the app are very robust as well. You can pair a button on your TV remote to start/stop sync, have the sync automatically start when it detects media being displayed, native CEC support, and much more. The box alone eliminated my need for an HDMI switcher, which are also expensive($100+) considering there are 5 HDMI ports (one is output) that support 8k 60hz or 4k 120hz. Overall, after a year, I am very happy with my purchase, pleased with my experience and I would actually recommend it if you are in the market and have the extra money. As I stated before, if the price is a big pain point for you, there are many options to choose from! ... show more

  • Magic in a box
Size: 65 Inch
I love these. They work exactly as advertised. I have fully embedded myself in the Phillips Hue ecosystem, so I have plenty of experience in setting up bits and pieces here and there, and it’s never been anything but easy. Everything just works. It’s almost as easy as setting up an Apple product. That’s about the highest praise you can give a consumer electronic. It has the added benefit of working seamlessly with Apple Home. As for the experience, it really makes a difference. It effectively extends the edges of the frame enough that your peripheral vision doesn’t need the image, just the impression of an image. It’s really cool to see. If you’re looking into something like this then I endorse it. It’s a luxury, and a totally unnecessary one, but it’s one that is worth the money if you have invested in your home setup. ... show more

  • Show Me The Light!
Size: 75 Inch
I have been in search for a good backlight for my T.V. I have purchased a bunch of cheaper ones and figured I would go in the deep end with this one. I'm giving 4 stars for a few of reasons: 1. The price is crazy. Sure it's well made, but so expensive 2. They don't make one specifically for an 83" and above. That could be a sticking point for some. 3. Every so often I need to reset the system Installation was easy enough with the TV off the wall. I would worry about making sure everything is even when it's on the wall. The unit comes with 4 plastic adhesive guides for the lights. There is a small AC adapter box that plugs into the the back of the T.V. I added some velcro to hold that in place. Now the cool piece. The light is GREAT and it's accurate to what is being played on the T.V more so than any other product I have used before. *I will say that if you're using a LG G series, your TV will NOT sit flush to the wall. I have connected all my Philips Hue lights to react to what's on the T.V with the Hue Sync box. It's really cool. I'm pairing this with a latest gen Apple T.V, LG G5 77' and Sonos Arc sound bar. My final thoughts is that it's expensive, but works great. Looks cool and really adds to movie watching. ... show more

  • Best TV Immersion Kit
Size: 75 Inch
No complaints at all. Performs much better than competitors. Everything syncs well, both timing and color. Once you have it setup correctly (which is simpler than other lighting systems), it turns on and syncs by itself. Unlike systems with cameras, you don’t need to stress about color calibration. Really the best option i’ve seen for lighting immersion. You really can’t go wrong with Phillips. It looks great, it’s easy to setup and easy to use, and provides the immersion I’m looking for. I’ve paired this kit with the play bar under my TV for lights on all 4 sides of the TV. ... show more

  • Not so smooth of a process to pair
Size: 75 Inch
This product seemed very promising but was not able to get it to work as expected. The light was able to turn on but I was not able to pair with the box. Amazon customer service did basic troubleshooting before referring me to manufacturer and that was just too much of a hassle for something that should be plug and play. I believe I received a used product as packaging was deformed with broken seal as if previously opened and inside of packaging was a bit dusty and looked repackaged. ... show more

A great product! Love the lights behind the TV. It's easier on the eyes. And the sync with whatever movie is very cool! Highly recommend!

  • Defective From First Use and Amazon Support Was a Nightmare
Size: 55 Inch
The product itself arrived defective from first use. One section of the 55-inch Gradient Lightstrip flickers differently from the rest, even during solid colors, so this is clearly not a setup issue or a Sync Box issue. The problem is only with the lightstrip. What made the experience far worse was Amazon’s customer service. I was given conflicting information, sent through a replacement path that produced no result, and ultimately left without a practical solution. Returning the item from outside the U.S. would be extremely expensive, so the support Amazon offered was not realistic in my case. Very disappointing experience with both the defective product and the way Amazon handled the case. ... show more
