The keyboard does get a little toasty while gaming, so I pair it with the IETS GT500 forced air cooling pad, and with that combo the laptop stays around 55-65c, I didn't pay much attention to what it was while gaming without the pad but it doesn't melt my fingers mid-game now. I don't think forced air cooling will damage the fan bearings, but use at your own risk. I had a slight issue with the screen looking washed out so I had to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove the integrated graphics drivers, then uninstall some MSI color program, then let windows reinstall the integrated graphics drivers through the windows update screen. After that, I had an issue with Geforce Experience not wanting to install the dedicated gpu drivers. Annoying but not a problem, went to DDU again to uninstall nvidia drivers, then found something called "NVCleaninstall" to add ONLY the drivers needed and not geforce experience or their other unnecessary bloatware that runs in the background, highly recommend looking into that, might squeeze out a few more frames per second on any pc, just make sure to do your research on what exactly your setup needs or what features you want. I'll probably upgrade the RAM to 32gb or so, but the default ram isn't so bad, worth upgrading if you want to use the laptop for 3d modeling, music production, or maybe a bit more intensive gaming. Not sure if it's MSI or Windows but there was a lot of bloatware to remove after initial setup x.x All in all, it's been great after the initial setup headaches, no other issues so far, games run super smooth. ... show more

It hits that perfect spot for a gaming laptop. I bought through Amazon warehouse and got used for a great price. It came in near perfect condition for 3/4 of the price. The QHD screen is perfect with a great refresh rate. Wicked fast CPU. Great feel on the key board. I upgraded the drive to a 2TB 980 Pro and upgraded the ram to 32gb. Both were super easy upgrades. So far, it has been the best laptop ever, roughly 2x faster than my previous MSI GE75 Raider. i9 13980HX with the 4080 12GB is just a beast of a machine. Could not be happier with this purchase. I do not usually do such large online purchases from Amazon, but this seller was listed on the MSI website and a confirmed reseller. I did so much research on the gaming laptop I wanted and this one sounded perfect, I got it and from day one I started getting little signs that I may have purchased a Lemon. First, the USB and USBC ports would disconnect and reconnect. A serious pain when working on projects from external HDs. The color was ALL screwed up crazy over exposed and not able to be fixed with the software on the computer. I found work arounds for the color. the USB situation I had to do a whole bunch of things to keep them from falling asleep randomly, still not working reliably. Then the WIFI adapter disconnects randomly as well, I work a lot on Zoom and need a reliable internet connection and this one is absolutely not reliable. again, more work arounds have made it somewhat usable, but still not reliable. Nothing opens, windows explorer takes at least 30 seconds to even open, slowly populating each thing one at a time. I purchased it a few days before a trip to Europe and now I am back, and now the computer has slowed down so much that as I type this it takes at least 1 to 2 seconds for the text to appear. The whole system seems to slowly be crashing. I've owned 3 MSI laptops previously with no issues but this one hasn't worked like it should, and should be crazy fast and it is not. Bought it as an upgrade for MSI Ge76 (10Gen 3080), as my work/game machine and so far is very impressed with performance. Additional performance cores provide smooth performance across cpu demanding applications and games. Thermals are being also under control going at most 80C under heavy load. Killer Network card doesn't cause problems as in previous iterations and doesn't require driver manipulation for the stable work. The only thing, it gets a little loud under synthetic load or gaming and so you might need to use headphones. Still noise is quieter than on previous Raider iterations. ... show more
