I bought this in july of 2024, and I used it with my first gaming laptop, oh god, I haven't touched a controller since PS1 days, and I could tell. It took me a good while to get used to the controller in my big skinny hands, but it was great! I changed the left stick for the flat wheel thingy, and it is a beautiful thing let me tell you, its way more precise and easy to click with my thumb. I haven't used wireless yet since I like having the cable like old times, but it is very responsive and works perfectly for me. All games I've played recognized it right away, so I have had no issues with it. For a budget controller, I recommend this MSI Force GC30V2 !

This controller is quite a gamble. I have seen people use ones where the joysticks and D-Pad are perfect, the best pros. Others where the D-Pad can only move four directions no matter how hard you press on the diagonals. Another where the joysticks have Cardinal Snapping. And the worst offender being both of the cons together. I am part of the third group, where the D-Pad is really good with moving all directions with ease. It is my go-to for 2D overhead titles and arguably on par with the Saturn 2D par and 6-button Mega Drive controller. But for the joysticks, I could not be any more unhappy. They have obvious Cardinal Snapping which makes it difficult to aim in FPS games and move around diagonally. I have only used the controller in top form because a friend let me use theirs for a minute. It was very nice and was hoping mine had the same joysticks and D-Pad. But unfortunately, that luck has been weak. The first time I ever got it, the joysticks and D-Pad were bad. Then the second time, only the joysticks. I might try one more time to see if I get both good joysticks and D-Pad, but I won't hold my breath. Other than that, everything else is fine. Buttons are great, analog triggers feel nice and firm and the grip is very comfortable. Only minor criticism is it going with Micro USB Instead of USB-C for the cable port, but that is not a huge problem. Battery life is also very solid, for sure lasting on even the longest of marathons. Despite my complaints, I heavily recommend this controller.

Controller worked for about 2 months then quit. Won't turn on and won't charge. While the controller itself feels quality, the internal components apparently are not. While looking online for help with this issue, as the return window has closed, I get no help from MSI website and found that this is an overly occurring problem with this controller. In another words, enjoy it for the time that the return window is open, after that, use it for a paper weight on your desk because that's all it'll be worth. My advice, no matter how inexpensive it is, its not worth 2 cents. Try another brand, which is sad because I tend to purchase MSI branded products exclusively including the components I used to build by current rig, and have zero issues with any of them. Do better with your game pads MSI or you may end up losing longtime customers like myself!

One of the best controllers I have used in a while. I prefer gaming with my ps5 controller as I’ve grown accustomed to it. But this msi gc300 wireless feels amazing. It’s a great price point for the quality of controller. Feels like a controller a pro would use. Easy to set up and the buttons feel great. Overall size of the controller is great as I have huge hands but it doesn’t feel like I’m holding a toddler controller. From what I see the durability should last quite a while even with 4 kids in the house who may end up using it. Compatibility with windows 11 and the ability to map the extra buttons to certain games is amazing. Def will buy another one for my gf and have already recommended to friends. I’ve purchased both gc300 and gc30 v2 and both are wonderful controllers

Apart from its micro-USB connector (really, still?), this has all the makings of an outstanding value controller. The stick accuracy exceeds much more expensive units, which is particularly useful in the racing games I play (FH5, NFS, etc.). I really like this controller and would not hesitate to give it five stars if not for the following issues. My unit frequently gets stuck on vibration--rumbling when there's nothing to rumble, even in the pause menu. I had to reset the controller several times a session. Then, the rumble almost completely died and became little more than a distracting rattle. More than an immersion enhancement, vibration is necessary for a good racing experience, as it provides feedback on tire grip and shift times. The rumble has since returned for now, but it still gets stuck a half-dozen times a session, at least. I figured I just got unlucky and wanted to exchange the controller for a new one. While the issue occurred within the first two months of ownership, I was past my Amazon return window. So, when the rumble died, I went to MSI for an RMA. However, I refuse to pay to ship an RMA. Faulty products not caused by the customer should be the company's responsibility entirely. MSI's representatives clearly cared very little about my issue. As such, the whole experience left a bad taste. If MSI had agreed to provide a shipping label, this very well could be a five-star review. Should you try it? Maybe. The controller is otherwise an excellent product, and you may have better luck than me. But I just can't in good conscience give this a positive rating based on my personal experience.
