Installation was very straightforward and is definitely a DIY project. The unit works perfectly and is very quiet, so is the outside condenser. I would undoubtedly by one again.

AVOID this product. My freon line broke cleanly at a weld point (with minimal stress while placing unit outside) and MrUnCool is denying my warranty request. Photo confirms no kink . It broke at a weld point. MrUnCool does not stand behind their product. They are telling me that it's not broken at actual weld point... I have researched and the issue is called Thermal Embrittlement. In the weld process, they overheated the copper and weakened. I sent them photo showing cross section of the broken copper freon line. No crimp, king, twist or any deformation... I ran the photo in chatgpt which reported clear case of thermal embrittlement and no evidence of my mishandling. Their warranty claim team just summarily says its my fault, when photo evidence and facts contradict their conclusion... MrUnCool is not ethical. ... show more

After lots of consideration, I finally bought this for my 1br apartment. It was one of the better decisions I've made after struggling with wall units and street noise for ages, I used a through-the-wall AC sleeve for the line runs and stretched it into the room to use the full 16ft. The lineset was easy- screw it on with a wrench until it was fully tight (but I didn't force it any tighter). I used professional leak spray and a detector wand to verify it was solid before leaving the lines open. Looking back- The drain hose is only 5 feet, I needed 10 to get outside, which resulted in another trip to home depot mid install. Also, get a larger torque wrench size- 21,24,27mm I believe, the standard kits only have up to 19mm which isn't large enough so I had to improvise based on the videos. The wifi sensor goes on the upper panel, that took a while to find. Everything else went really well and it cools extremely well. Now I'm thinking about a second unit for the bedroom space because it works so well in the summer. I have baseboard heat so I'm not worried about the winter. ... show more

Wow! I love this mini split. I built a large shed office that’s about 320 square feet inside (insulated/drywalled). I was apprehensive about going with a mini split this inexpensive. But it beat the quoted I was getting to have a professional install a Mitsubishi for $6,500. The inside and outside unit are extremely quiete to where I forget they’re there. I love that I can set up parameters and schedules and other comfort settings and real time control via my Mr cool phone app. ... show more

Self install should not involve me digging around in the guts of this thing because it is getting an error code. The support tech wants me to take the thing apart to make sure a sensor is plugged in and will not offer any warranty support until I do. If they know its a sensor issue and the thing is new out of the box why should I have to take it apart to see if it was assembled correctly at the manufacture. ... show more
