After lots of consideration, I finally bought this for my 1br apartment. It was one of the better decisions I've made after struggling with wall units and street noise for ages, I used a through-the-wall AC sleeve for the line runs and stretched it into the room to use the full 16ft. The lineset was easy- screw it on with a wrench until it was fully tight (but I didn't force it any tighter). I used professional leak spray and a detector wand to verify it was solid before leaving the lines open. Looking back- The drain hose is only 5 feet, I needed 10 to get outside, which resulted in another trip to home depot mid install. Also, get a larger torque wrench size- 21,24,27mm I believe, the standard kits only have up to 19mm which isn't large enough so I had to improvise based on the videos. The wifi sensor goes on the upper panel, that took a while to find. Everything else went really well and it cools extremely well. Now I'm thinking about a second unit for the bedroom space because it works so well in the summer. I have baseboard heat so I'm not worried about the winter. ... show more

Fantastic well worth the money works like a charm,not hard to install and blast cold air on ac and hot air on heat. I bought a 12,000 and a 24,000 and my electricity bill dropped from $540 central heat /ac to $109 a month and are very comfortable with both the heat and ac highly recommend

It was very simple to install for a person that has some basic building, electrical, and hvac knowledge. Just follow the directions, it took me 2 days 2 people, first day was electrical setup, about a half a day. The second took all day at a deliberate pace, double checking everything, I had to work longer on a mounting solution that took in a longest amount of time. Running the the isolation tape around the hard lines was the hardest part of the installation for me. I taped over again with a black adhesive insulation tape to hide the lines better. Easy install went quite well, and zero hvac skills. I can do wireing so that helped. The whole install took 6 hrs the most annoying part was what size hole to drill. Bought a 3.5 inch bit like I read somewhere. I ended up having to go buy a 2.5 in so that is 50 in hole saws. This has only been on a couple of hours 93° out side 70 inside so it cools quite nice. Wow! I love this mini split. I built a large shed office that’s about 320 square feet inside (insulated/drywalled). I was apprehensive about going with a mini split this inexpensive. But it beat the quoted I was getting to have a professional install a Mitsubishi for $6,500. The inside and outside unit are extremely quiete to where I forget they’re there.
