  • Great product
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
Used this tiny little guy for the first time tonight. My 12x20 workshop is completely uninsulated and has a large loft. After 10 minutes on high, we cut it back to the low setting and ran it for another hour. After that, I turned it off and took off my insulated shirt and still felt quite comfortable. The starting and outdoor temperature was 35 degrees. It honestly performed beyond my wildest expectations. Just a couple quick observations. First, this unit is equipped with a constant ignition module. It gives a constant ticking sound, which I wasn't expecting. Even so, it fades into the background like white noise and you don't notice it. Second, even though this is the quiet blower, it still makes noise. It isn't like a jet on takeoff, but it isn't silent by any means. That being said, my son and I were standing two feet in front of it and held a conversation in a normal voice without a problem. Other than that, it is simple and quick to start and provides heat faster than any other heater I've ever had. I wish I would have bought this ten years ago. ... show more

  • Helped keep our well unfrozen during huge winter storm
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
We live in the Central Texas Hill Country and have a well. The wellhead, pipes, and tank are currently open to the air, but twice in the last 4 years we've had hugely cold, prolonged, Arctic blasts with temps staying in the teens or below for days/weeks at a time. After the first big such storm we ended up no running water for a week, and once it all thawed out we had busted pipes at the well. During that storm we also lost power which caused our pipe heat tape and electric heater to stop working. This year (January 2024) we had similar weather and didn't want a recurrence, so we did a couple of things. First, after the last storm we got a Honda generator to keep the pipe tape working. Second, we got this propane heater to keep things thawed out. We also could use the generator to keep both the pipe tape and the fan of this heater working if the power went out. I was able to use this heater on the lowest setting, and with a 20 gallon propane tank it would run for 12-ish hours, enough to get us through the coldest overnight periods. I have an inventory of four propane tanks so I was able to keep it going each night and get tanks refilled during the days. Note that this heater is not rated for outdoor use, but where my well is I have a (non-flammable) table that I set over the heater as a rain/snow block, and it worked just fine and kept everything thawed and flowing through the storm. Highly recommended. Oh, and I already have contractors giving me bids for a well house to permanently solve the issue. :) ... show more

  • This one is really good
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
We had a procom magnum for a couple years, it was 40,000 BTU, it worked but this 3rd year with it, it was hard to start and didn't seem like it was putting out much heat, the worst thing is it would shut the propane flow off when using it, so you'd go out the to garage and it would just have the fan running with no flame. So I thought I'd try this one since it was rated high and it is way better. It's easy to start (no having to keep popping that starer button over and over, just push hold the button down and it instantly starts, and it stays running. It also has that adjustment for 30,000 to 60,000 BTU which is super nice. And man, when it's set to 60,000 it puts out a TON of heat, the thermometer on our garage wall went from 38 degrees to 91 degrees after just 30 minutes of running, was actually so hot out there I had to shut it off. Really great heater. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
Not too bad. Pretty loud but it also puts out a decent amount of heat. On first use, I didn’t realize I needed to press the starter button when I have the thing plugged in. I thought the idea of electric power is that it will auto spark. Once lit, of course, it stays lit, but why can’t it auto start when plugged into electric? Sometimes I wish i would have went with a bigger model that outputs more heat. But I overall love this little thing. I heat my garage with it in maybe 15 minutes so I can have a cigar with my buddies in winter. They’ve all commented they’d like to pick one up too. ... show more

  • Saved Thanksgiving!
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
Thanksgiving needed to be outdoors this year because of the pandemic. We had a big enough tent but the weather up here in NY is chilly and while everyone was willing to try this, we weren't sure whether this little heater would do the job. It did. Using propane (a 20lb tank seems to last about 5 or 6 hours on high) and an electric connection (for ignition and the fan motor) this little cannon put out enough heat to warm a table of 12. Those closest to the heater were quite a bit warmer than those 12 feet away at the other side of the table so everyone chose their seating based on their cold tolerances. Setting up the heater was easy and everything but a full propane tank and an extension cord is included. The unit is nicely made and the outside of the heater does not get dangerously warm (double wall construction) even after hours of use--a big safety plus. The unit has (as all propane appliances do) a safety thermocouple which only allows the gas to flow to the heater when it is producing heat and it seems to work well. The noise from the heater is substantial, a combination of the propane flame and the fairly powerful fan motor creates a bit of a roar. But our guests didn't seem to mind so long as they were toasty. ... show more

  • Works as expected
Style: Heater Pattern Name: Heater
Works as expected. Bought this for my garage gym. Raised temp from 48 degrees to 60 degrees in 15 minutes. If you're buying this for your garage, you do need to be safe. I've got a small exhaust fan and crack the garage a little. I've got a CO detector as well. I think a Mr Buddy or Big Buddy would be infinitely safer indoors. So do yourself a favor and buy yourself a propane/co/co2 detector when you buy this, if using in a closed area. Be safe. ... show more
