Don’t know why this had a couple negative reviews I found it great. My espresso has been easy to make, hot and yummy. I’ve had smaller tankless machines before and found this one much better. I paid under $100 so if it last a few years. Now as I learn and use it more I may get a better one but right now I’m happy with it. Much more than my little tankless Mr Coffee brand espresso machine. Only thing that has happened was after steaming if I wanted to brew another cup or steamed first it would just beep. I tried unplugging it after powering it down. Finally I realized I had to turn the steam valve open when it was in standby mode to release the pressure. No problem after that. I do wish the instructions were more detailed. Strong plastic smell and taste. I washed the water tank before the priming of the machine. Hopefully it will disappear after some use. The setting of volume of one or two shots is not really available. The factory default is pretty short.

I was excited to upgrade from my old ,simple, functional $39 Mr Coffee espresso maker. I've tried the new one a couple times. Coffee doesn't seem hot and it takes a long time to warm up for operation. Frankly, coffee is no better than the cheap one. I like the tank reservoir on this. So far, the tank is the only feature that surpasses my old cheap one. I'll give it more chances. Update. Used it again this morning. What a pain in the rear! Took forever to get the steam to work. Espresso was lukewarm at best! Spewed lots of water into my milk before I could get the steam to function. This machine is more stressful than enjoyable. I have used many espresso machines. From top dollar, to low budget. My old $39.00 Mr Coffee has been amazing compared to this. ... show more

    • Know Nothing About Making Espresso? THIS is your machine!
I am past retirement age, and I had never made a cup of espresso in my life. The only espresso I had had was from Starbucks, or after dinner at a nice restaurant. I did, however, marvel at all the activity the barista had to put forth in order to get it right. So this machine, as listed, was a bit intimidating. But honestly, it is A LOT less intimidating if I'm paying $100, than if I am paying $150 or $200! And even if I never mastered it, the stainless steel construction would look oh-so-cool in my Manhattan kitchen! :-) But the surprise is that it's not terribly difficult! If you'll take the time to determine what the process is, what each part does, and what you need to do, making espresso can be a very pleasing and rewarding experience. I can't say that the first cup I made would be something I would serve to a human, but subsequently I got the hang of it. It's fun, productive, and obviously cheaper than Starbucks. Is it better? Mine is probably not, but yours COULD be. All it takes is some effort and commitment. I love this machine, and highly recommend. (And it really will make your kitchen look AWESOME!)
