Have had this Jan 2025. We love this coffee maker. Use it twice a day. Best coffee maker ever!! The 8 Oclock coffee brews perfect! The brew time is fast so my girl friend doesn't fall back asleep. The 6 oz cup is a perfect size, just enough room in your cup for creamer. Just like any other coffee maker, when you remove the pot coffee does drip from the filter, so what. This is not a quality machine. It was fine for about a year, then slowly parts of it started breaking. It's trash after 1.5 years. Okay for a first time espresso machine.

    • A perfect cup each time
I decided to toss my keurig and try this. So far this has been perfect, coffee comes out delicious. As I am the only coffee drinker it is a good size and doesn't take up too much counter space. I also like I can set a timer to turn on in the morning. Not noisey. Easy to set up and clean.

    • A river of overflowing grinds...
I would give this negative 5 stars if I could. This is the WORST coffee maker I've ever had. And I've had a lot in my 50+ years. I chose this because I wanted a smaller pot when my prior12 cup maker broke and I didn't want to spend a lot. I thought Mr. Coffee was a brand that would at least be reliable at brewing coffee if not fancy. However, the small footprint on the counter is the only thing it has going for it. Here are the problems: 1. The gold reusable filter basket it comes with is too small. Even when I tried to use less coffee grinds, you cannot make anywhere near 5 cups without the grinds overflowing the basket and into your coffee. 2. The replaceable water filter takes up even more space from the filter basket area, meaning you can use even less coffee grinds before it overflows. At least this piece is optional so I threw it away. 3. I then ditched the reusable gold filter and began using paper filters however even those that are made to fit a 4 cup maker are too large for the design of the pot so when you close the lid and the water spray arm moves over the filter, it catches on the filter edge and drags it over so it folds in on itself and, you guessed it, causes the grinds to overflow. I began moving the spray arm manually, making sure the filter paper doesn't fold over, then closing the lid, but even so, the water lingers in the filter compartment for too long and while brewing slowly is annoying, this ALSO makes the grinds overflow. And I can't use a larger filter paper, why? Because by design the filter compartment on this maker is too small and dysfunctional. You can only brew very week coffee in this pot, less than a tablespoon of grinds per "cup" because if you use a full scoop per cup, the grinds OVERFLOW. Every morning I have to strain the grinds out of my coffee. I should have returned this right away but I just couldn't fathom that a coffee maker couldn't even function in the most basic manner of brewing coffee so I thought I must have to adjust how I use it (use different filters, use less coffee, close the lid differently etc. etc.) but now after trying to use this pot for 4 months I can barely even drink the coffee and am going to throw it in the trash with extreme satisfaction and good riddance. I wouldn't even donate this maker to Goodwill, that's how useless it is. Although I must say, if you want to give up coffee and wean off of caffeine, this coffee maker is an effective tool because it will make you hate the process of making coffee as well as hate the taste and eventually you will just give up on coffee altogether. ... show more

Works very well for my use. I like that I can keep my coffee warm enough to really enjoy it better. The look is nice. The value is reasonable. It is easy to use and my coffee definitely brews with better flavor.

i am a solo coffee drinker in my house, who was tired of the giant 12cup coffee pot eating up all my good coffee grounds. my old machine was bulky, inconsistent, and after purchasing this one i learned my old one was not getting up to temperature..... this coffee pot has saved my household from the grumpiness of non caffeinated me. you need to be careful not to overfill with grind or water! it will leak grinds if you overfill it! however if you just want a couple cups of coffee, or to share one with someone its a great pot. its small and takes up so little room, i can even store it with my dishes when i need the extra counter top space. the filter is nice, but i use bottled water to prevent hard water build up in the tubes. honestly after using this for a while now the only thing i would change is i wish it hard a heavy or light brewing setting but i can see how that would be difficult in a smaller kettle like this one. as far as complaints ive seen... it did once or twice shut of prematurely like during brew or never started the brew... but since i moved it to a more reliable outlet i have not had said issues. other than we joke about the coffee fairy now.... you do get a full brew. yes it might fall below the 5cup line by as much as 1/2cup? but i contribute that to a few things: loss during heat up and steam, and the water that is displaced in the grounds.... so the loss of water in brewing is very reasonable.... unless you believe the coffee fairy stole it. it does not overfill IF YOU FILL IT CORRECTLY 5 cups means 5 cups, 5 scoops of coffee no more! i do occasionally get grounds in my coffee.... but having worked in coffee, and managed a basic coffee pot for the better part of half my life, it kinda just happens. clean your baskets each time and it wont happen as much. again LOVE this coffee pot. would highly recommend ... show more
