One of my all time favorite purchases! I was gifted a strand of these to use for camping and I loved them so much that I purchased a second! I love that they are rechargeable both through solar and with an outlet. I charge them fully before I go camping and then if they need a little more charge during the trip I set them in the sun for a few hours. I love how you can disconnect the charging portal so you do not have to take the lights themselves down. The way they can link to another strand is also awesome in areas where you don’t have a place to attach the lights- that has saved me a few times when trying to light a specific area of our campsites. Having different brightness levels is also great if you are trying to stargaze (low) or cook (high). I have also purchased these several times as gifts for friends and family. While they are great for camping they aren’t limited to that! Great for tailgating, picnics, yard parties, treehouses, all sorts of things! Fully charged running at night for a few hours on medium brightness I usually get 3 nights usage so they don’t even have to be recharged for a weekend trip! They are waterproof as long as you close the bottom where the cord plugs in and they are so easy to use! Also very compact considering the light they provide. Be sure to throw some paracord or rope in with them to give more options when hanging them! ... show more

A great light. I charged it up with the USB-C in about an hour (There was already a charge though). I then tested the brightness and the length. If I put it on the top setting and keep the lights close it is easy to read with. That's not really why I got it though. I want the general light spread out with good duration. I ran it straight with the full batter at the lowest setting and it lasted about 36 hours. Then I was able to get it charged back up about half-way putting it outside for about 6 hours. It was a cloudy day in December so I give this a great thumbs up. The weight is right in that area of I would take it car camping and a short hike but too heavy for a multi day backpack. I have the Big Agnes lights for that which weighs much less but no solar and much less light. You choose for you. I chose to have both ... show more

I bought a similar one from REI and it works great. This one does not hold a charge for longer than 2 hrs and doesn’t really charge via the solar. The other one I have lasts all night and charges in no time. I can not recommend this product. UPDATE: After 2 months of occasional use it doesn’t charge at all anymore. Not via cable or solar. It’s a definite don’t buy for me ... show more

I’ve been a fan of these string lights since they came out… I always say, “where have these been all my life!?” And the new longer model is even better. Like the older ones (that have been on every car, RV or backpack camping trip with me over the past 5+ years) these deliver consistent, peaceful and beautiful lighting. The newest iteration has be thinking of replacing my other 3 shorter sets, an here’s why: the string portion is now removable. That seems like a small thing, but often while camping and setup as part of our camp setup, these lights are in full shade all day. While that’s where *we* want to be, it does nothing for the solar charging functionality (which is awesome). With this model I can just disconnect the battery (and storage case for the string lights ) and place the solar panel in full sun. Not sure who came up with that iteration, but give that guy a raise. 😂 ... show more

We LOVE these lights SO much! My only gripe is that even though you can select individual colors, there isn't an option to have multi-colored lights where the strand displays orange, green, red, purple, pink, AND blue in sequence simultaneously. Versatile Ambiance These offer great ambiance in multiple settings. We hung them in a tree outside our tent and also had a string inside. It's fun to have them set to a color for ambiance, but when switched to white, they provide essential light to actually see what you're doing! Charging Practicality We love that they charge via USB-C and charge quite fast. We camp in our EV and can just plug them into the car or our Jackery to recharge when needed. Solar Reality in PNW Living in the Pacific Northwest, relying on the solar panel for recharging in shoulder seasons is pretty much useless. I'm glad it's there, but we've got many months before we'll find it useful. Our recent redwood camping trip proved this - the tree canopy made solar charging nearly impossible. Case Size Consideration The case is a bit large and feels unnecessarily bulky. As car campers this isn't a huge deal, but it's worth noting for those watching their packing space. Perfect For Car campers and RV/van lifers who want dual-purpose lighting (ambiance and functional) People with USB-C charging capability who won't rely solely on solar Creating atmosphere both inside and outside your camping setup Bottom Line Fantastic lights with great color options and fast USB-C charging.
