I’ve brought the MPOWERD Luci Solar String Lights on a few camping trips, and they’ve been great. I usually attach them to my rooftop tent or Yakima Slim Shady awning, and they provide just the right amount of light for the campsite. The warm white LEDs give off a nice, comfortable glow—not too bright or harsh, which I really like. Charging them is super simple. The solar panel works well during the day, and if I need to, I can charge them with USB before heading out. The built-in power bank has also saved me a couple of times when my phone was running low. They’ve held up really well to outdoor use, including some rain and dirt. Plus, they’re compact and easy to pack. picked this up on sale for camping. very simliar to one of the other lights i have, the black one with soft white light pods. the unit is fairly large, but it houses the light string when not in use. you won't throw it into a small bag. 5" circle about 2" high. you probably also want to make sure you don't smash the solar panel into something and ruin it. you can charge it via usb-c or the solar panel, but it will take a few days of good sun to fully charge the 2000mAh battery. the string is attached to the unit, which is disappointing as you may have to take it down or relocate it to recharge it via solar or usb-c. some sort of quick-disconnect would have been a nice feature. it says it's waterproof, but i can't find a rating, the light pods are sealed and the base can be if you close it. it's probably ok to leave out in a light rain but i wouldn't dunk it. the color choices for the lights are interesting. instead of your typical 7 led colors you find on so many devices (bright blue, red, cyan, green, etc.) you get 5 pastel colors plus a bright cold white, the 'flashlight' on the top of the unit for a spot light, and a cycle mode that slowly shifts between the colors. the pastel colors are nice, make good accent lighting, but aren't very bright and you're not going to sit and read all night to them. the bright white is much brighter and can easily light up a small space like a tent. i can recommend these for some 'fun' string lights, for camping, around the house, or anywhere you want to string them up. if you're looking for good lighting to read or work by, check out the warm white light in the black case. ... show more

I have several other Mpowered inflatable lantern and candle lights that I take when we go camping. They are one of my favorite things to bring and use. They are reliable and make great conversation starters. They are adequately bright and I don't have to worry about batteries, bulbs, broken mantels or burns with the Luci lights. I'm definitely a fan of the brand. Now that I have my lanterns and candles for task and mood lighting I wanted to create a different element of the atmosphere by having a string of lights around our tent. I was so excited when I saw that MPowered now had string lights. The unit is bulkier and less conducive to an ultralight set up than the other Luci lights due to the base, but I mostly glamp when I camp so I don't mind. I'm happy that there is a cover for the string of lights when you wrap it up for storage. I don't like detangling lights strands. I really hate it when one light going bad ruins the whole strand. Even with the cover, it's still smaller than most other lanterns. The lights are nicely spaced to wrap around and drape over objects and not lose brightness. They also are durable with the insulated/braided cord vs. a vinyl wrapped one. A bonus is a fact that I can get an emergency charge from the base, and the string can be charged via USB. The string of lights produces a low to mid-level shadowless lighting for a nice sized area depending on which brightness setting I choose. If I need a task light, the flashlight mode provides a more focused light stream. The majority of my camping experience is with my family. More often than not, just myself and my tween daughter. I love that all of the Luci lights are kid-friendly and safe, they encourage her participation. The next time I have an evening festival I will be putting these string lights up on my gazebo. ... show more

am in love with these, after charging lasts really long and as you can adjust the intensity setting of the illumination it provides lots of light on the 3rd setting. Used for camping and was very happy with it.

I love these and they are a staple on my camping trips. They provide a ton of light but aren’t too bright to hurt the eyes. They last so long so I rarely have to worry about them going out. I also love the little hooks provided along the string to make hanging them up super easy. This feature is great since you will have to take them down and put them back up multiple times during a camping trip to charge them. I also love how the lights are stored inside the battery pack. I will definitely be purchasing more in the future ... show more
