A person with basic knowledge of wiring car electronics should be able to install this product successfully.

Physical damage or damage due to improper installation will void the manufacturer's warranty. Within the first year you can contact us for warranty issues. The product must be returned to us at the customer's expense in order for us to perform warranty service. After the first year, warranty issues must be handled directly through the manufacturer. The manufacturer will require a receipt from the original purchase. Product specific warranty information will be included with the product packaging. The product is warranted to the end user, when properly installed and under normal conditions of use, to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one year from the provided date of purchase, to the original purchaser of the product. This warranty does not cover abuse, operation in a manner inconsistent with the product's design, or damage resulting from exposure to the elements. I agree, the instructions could use some work, but once you figure out what they're trying to say it's a breeze to install. What makes it confusing is the instructions are for a couple of versions. I got the 3000' version with an antenna, so you have to incorporate another "T" connector, which is made confusing because at first, they tell you how to do it for the version without the antenna connection. But once I figured that one out the install went quickly. The last snag I ran into was recognizing the remotes. Well actually I forgot to link them to the unit and thought it wasn't working until I reread the instructions and got to the part where they instruct you how to link the remotes to the unit! Doh... Listen, if you read the instructions until you understand the process, this remote starter works great. I had an installer quote me $500 to do the job. Doing it myself was the way to go. Now if this thing kraps out, I'll revise my review, but for now this is a 6-star review. ... show more

Super easy install. Took less than 5 minutes to do. The hardest part was finding the Torque bit to remove the shroud to my steering column. Anyone can do it! I dont know why I havent considered this 8 years ago. I absolutley love it!

If you are on the fence about if you can do this yourself or if it works as advertised DONT BE!! It works perfectly. I had a little issue during programming, called the customer service number and got the issue solved immediately. Otherwise the hardware and wiring is really plug and play. Very happy?! ... show more

the instructions are absolutely terrible. it wouldn't work and i redid everything step by step multiple times and still no go. If there's something I'm missing it's because of the vague instructions. next step tech support!
