No instructions where included. So I had to Google it. A little inconvenience but I was able to find directions online. This is what worked for my Chevy Silverado "Manually unlock your car door with your Chevy key. Be sure that all of the side doors are fully shut, then put the key in the ignition, but don’t start the car. Press and hold the unlock button on the driver’s side door, then turn your key to the “On” position. The interior lights and radio will come on, but the engine should not be ignited. Turn the key back to the “Off” position, then turn it to “On” and right back to “Off” once again in quick succession. (On – Off – On – Off) Release the unlock button. After releasing the unlock button, you should hear the door locks engage and disengage, telling you that the programming sequence can start. On your Chevy key fob, press and hold the “Unlock” and “Lock” buttons simultaneously until you hear the door locks engage and disengage again, indicating that you have successfully programmed your key fob. Re-insert the newly programmed key into the ignition in the “On” position to end the programming sequence." ... show more

I was surprised how easy it was to.program these fobs. Added note I dud not reprogram the old fobs. If someone did gave an old fob it will not work to unlock my vehicle. Added security in my mind
