    • Loud. Sensitive. Many options. Long distance remote.
For the price, you can't really find a better theft deterrent for a bike, scooter, backpack, briefcase, laptop, etc. Yes it has limitations but remember it's less than $20. The remote works from about 100 ft away. The alarm can be quite loud if you position it properly. It's also very sensitive. You can adjust the volume of the alarm and the sensitivity. There's also a safety feature that if the alarm tilts on its side, it will beep an SOS until it's returned to its normal position. There's also a locate feature that will chirp the alarm to help you find your item or device. Battery life is also pretty good. Expect 6 months on the AAA batteries in the alarm and about a year on the remote (arming and disarming a couple times a day). The alarm really shouldn't be exposed to rain, but if it's mounted underneath something of it will withstand splashing and dirt and can be wiped clean. The battery compartment does have a gasket to help protect the internals. I own several of these and they've lasted years. ... show more

The instructions are incredibly confusing, but no matter how loud the unit is, when your door is closed, you can barely hear it. So, even if someone is jiggling your car door lock, he might hear it, but it’s not very loud to warn you inside your house or other people that someone is trying to break into the car. Unfortunately, it needs to be much louder, it’s really not a very good deterrent as it doesn’t take affect until they get into the car.
