Easy to install & was able to keep my (homemade) push start too (was not about to buy/pay for a new ignition switch Ford was not standing behind as many have been failing and they should have had a recall to offer a free fix this is my own opinion. So sorry back to my review. Love how you can just jumper into system with fitting connectors and without having to splice in wiring, that was a smart idea. Would buy again and suggest this to others. I did have a very minor problem but was my own fault while trying to program. I did not get the 3 bongs when turning the key because I did not have one of a connector fully seated in the steering column as soon as I did realize was not getting the "Bongs" I fully seated the connector and I got both keys programmed first attempt but before I noticed the problem I tried about 4 times so I for sure had my practice. Anyways listen for the bongs just wanted to mention so it may help another person out. Also want to point out to pay attention how you remove the panels. The lower steering column wrap around panel was giving me a problem figuring out how to re-install with the steering adjuster which goes in (through) first or while you are re-installing the panel. The lower panel below the steer column, at the very bottom of the panel it is hinged in that is after the top is pooped out the bottom swings down and the out so do not try to pop out the bottom let the top swing down a bit and then remove. I actually ordered the unit and the night before it was to come in had everything ready all the panels off and my tools lined up which were not many needed at all for this job.

Installed this kit in a 2012 Ford Escape. With the included factory harness, was a very straight forward process. Just have to remove trim panel below steering wheel, and the shroud around the steering wheel which is held in by 3x 5.5mm bolts. Once that is done, everything is just like the description says, plug and play. Since all of the connectors on the harness are keyed, there is no guess work. They only fit where they are supposed to go. Programming was a breeze and everything worked for me the first time with no issues what so ever. You really can't beat it for the price. You could pay more for a viper or compustar kit, but those don't come with model specific harness. Really a no brainer if you're looking for functionality and ease of install. The only things I didn't like is that the instructions could be a little more clear. There was a lot of unused connectors on the harness that weren't mentioned in the instructions that made it kind of confusing to connect at first. Also, I would have liked to have an option to get a two way kit without upgrading to the smartphone module.

I bought this to put in my wife's car, and it was actually very easy to do. Hooking it up was fairly easy after reviewing the instructions, probably took about an hour total from start to finish. The time consuming part was in the programming of the unit. Many times I thought that I wired something up wrong, or that it was defective, but it was just in my timing. When programming, you need to be very careful with your timing of the button presses. After it was programmed it worked like a charm. Very happy with the price, and value of this purchase. I would buy it again, no hesitation.

No install instructions! You have to go to YouTube for help. You can’t talk to a tect, email only! Tect by email are you serious,! Mine broke on install. Sent it back and still haven’t received a replacement! Still can’t use it. Not happy. Will never buy this brand again! You shouldn’t unless your ready for stress.
