We got this for my two year old as I was tired of sacrificing my phone and my Spotify algorithm for his bedtime music needs. This is a basic and great device. We only use Spotify on it and I deleted most of the other apps. It easily connected to our wifi, to his Bluetooth headphones, and the speaker. But honestly the speaker built in is powerful enough that we don't need another speaker usually! We have tons of playlists downloaded and no issues with storage, but you can get an extra SD card if you wanted more. No issues with touch screen or battery. It lasts several days for him, but again he's just listening to music. We've had it about three months and it has paid for itself many times over by preserving my sanity and our family's ability to travel without meltdowns. I would recommend it to anyone! ... show more

Got this to use at work since we can't have our phones out on the floor. Slight difference in sound quality compared to phone when I'm paired with my speaker. If the battery dies completely, it has to charge for a few minutes before it'll show the battery icon and needs to get to about 5-7% before it'll power back on. The memory space on it without an SD card is pretty good. Ive download so many playlists and podcast episodes and it has yet to yell at me for it. ... show more

    • For a picky parent, it’s kinda the only option.
I wanted to have audible for my son but not have access to the internet. This is one of only a handful of devices that give you those options. We tried 3 and this one was the least crappy. It mostly works. It does audio books fine. Getting music on it is a pain and then can be a bit glitchy at times. It has an FM radio that works. Those were the things we wanted and it works enough to keep it. It’s definitely in need of improvements. It gets really hot which makes me think it’s going to burn itself out sooner than later. Definitely needs the extra SD storage card. I’m grateful there was something that fit our needs but could be better. Probably should mention this is our second one. First one crashed within the 30 day refund window. ... show more

Wow, I'm impressed. This is a fantastic little device, and it comes with quite a few accessories that weren't listed on the product page which were wonderful surprises. Bluetooth pairing was very easy. I love that Amazon Music is preloaded. Easy to connect to the internet and sync. Touch screen is responsive. Has all the bells and whistles of shuffle, continuous play, etc. I like that its internal storage is easily expandable with a card if necessary. The built in speaker is a little weak, but I don't plan to use it without headphones so. Battery life seems great. I’ve had it running for an hour and a half and it’s only used 10%. It has neat features like being able to schedule it to turn on and off, and has an auto-off feature that can be set from 5-25mins, or to never off. For a while I was concerned that the device just kept turning off after five minutes of no use, and the device had to be fully turned back on and would make noise which is annoying. Well fortunately, I found this setting and if you just change this setting to never off, then the device won’t turn off unless you manually hold down the power button for several seconds. The screen goes dark to save battery, but all it takes is a quick tap of the power button and the device lights up from its sleeping state (without making noise). The really pleasant surprises were that this came with a screen protector already pre-installed on both front and back, and another unused set in the box. It also comes with a soft plastic case to help protect it from drops and damage. The USB-USB C cord that comes with it even has a USB to USB C dongle, such that you could plug it into a computer that only has USB C. It does come with a set of wired headphones too, though I'll probably not be using them as they're not great quality. But I didn't buy this for the headphones.     • Initially glitchy With Spotify, but got a replacement and it works great!
UPDATE 1/30/24: We have been using our replacement player for a few days now and it's performing wonderfully. My son is thrilled with this product, as am I. I'm bumping this review from 2 stars to 5, and hoping the great performance continues! UPDATE 1/17/24: The seller reached out to me right away after my review of my poor experience - top notch customer service there. I just submitted this for an exchange. I'll update review after we get the new one... hopefully we just had a lemon and the next one we get will operate smoothly with Spotify! INITIAL REVIEW: I was so excited to buy this for my 8yo for Christmas. We wanted something for him to listen to his Spotify playlists on. This product has been extremely glitchy with Spotify. It will work perfectly for a while and then stop responding, force close, and freeze up the player for an extended period of time. Bought this for my 8 year old’s birthday and he thinks it’s so cool. He navigates it just fine. He only uses it for music. He’s able to sync it to his Bluetooth speaker easily too. The headphones did not fit in his ears well so had to get different ones. Great product for the price. I’m glad it’s not over complicated too. ... show more
