We bought this for car trips. It has a good battery, nice screen, modern input/outputs and is fairly lightweight. We have a small inverter in the car connected to a cigarette lighter to recharge the battery on long trips. DVD player is a solid construction. Hinge feels firm and not flimsy. The screen only rotates all the way around clockwise. Counter clockwise it stops rotating at 90°. When an hdmi is plugged in the unit transfers its video to the external monitor, but the movie controls are still active on the device.
