More like a 3.5 star item. Picture quality is mediocre and the player will randomly decide that it won’t play a Blu-Ray disc, at times it will not play a Blu-Ray disc that it has played before( from either the beginning or one that you stopped, and want to watch the rest later) Volume levels are pretty weak as well. It does play dvds (90% of them, but will randomly throw the same unknown disc message as it does for Blu-Ray) Screen size is pretty good, if you use either headphones or an auxiliary speaker it does ok, you have to adjust your screen angles to get a good picture- kinda like the old projection TVs. Better than the smaller Sylvania units but that primarily due to my preference for a larger screen. As long as you keep your expectations reasonable it will work ok with DVDs.

For what it is, it’s fine. Screen is a generous size, but picture adjustment controls are unable to overcome the screen’s constitutively high black level, which severely limits overall contrast. The screen’s useful viewing angle is also very limited, restricting the viewer to a very small sweet spot. Audio quality is good via headphones. Closed-back headphones would help mask disc mechanism noise. Battery power is a nice convenience. Product is quite satisfactory, given moderate expectations.

The best thing to own for DVD collectors. It works beautifully and was worth saving up to get it. It was a well deserved gift to my self on Christmas and I deserve it and regret absolutely nothing 💯💯💯💯

We bought this for car trips. It has a good battery, nice screen, modern input/outputs and is fairly lightweight. We have a small inverter in the car connected to a cigarette lighter to recharge the battery on long trips. Also bought a separate HDMI cable to hook this to motel control box or TV (this took a google search to learn a few tricks to get to work, but it’s not the player’s fault, it’s because of the way those TVs are controlled).
