It arrived dusty and with an odor, as others commented. And apparently you cant remove the cover to wash it. It's thick and the color is as described, however the cover and stuffing both feel cheap. Not being able to wash it is extremely problematic, I wouldn't recommend this product.

Have had it now for about a week, however most of that time it has been outside airing out. I put it on my new futon base and slept on it one night, woke up with a major headache the next day. When the other reviews said it had a strong chemical smell, they were not lying! After four nights I finally sprayed half a bottle of febreeze on it and brought it in. I think the worst is over. Now, all that being said. It is majorly comfortable. It is so thick and firm, however, that it doesn't fold easily once it is out of the box. You have to take the mattress off, fold the futon, fold the mattress, and then put it on; immediately sitting on it to create a crease. This will get easier as time goes on and it adjusts. It came in a box that was about 1/5 the size of the mattress and I was shocked that it expanded as much as it did.

We loved it for the first 4 months. At this point it has slid beyond the brackets and about 6” lops over the edge when the futon is folded. This mattress would work great if used primarily as a bed. The bend won’t stay and the mattress is in a perpetual state of slip!

Overall I think it's a great futon, easy to assemble, good frame quality and somewhat comfortable. The cushion sinks in the middle when used as a couch, so it doesn't sit flat like a couch. Using it as a bed is not a problem, folding it back is. I have to stand on one end to bring it back up and it doesn't go up as easy.

I was skeptical, as many are, after reading reviews. But I figured why not? Its cheap and its thick. I recieved it two weeks earlier than expected. I have it laying out to puff up. This is an aroma from it, but I mean, its packed and stored and shipped. So between heat and new materials. Its going to happen. Just let it air out. I did notice some imperfections in the stitching, but again, ITS CHEAP! you get what you pay for. But I'm not dogging it. Its a great product and better than something you'll spend at Walmart. Be patient, let it plump up. Let it air out to dissipate the smell. And if the cover has imperfections, go buy a $30 cover and you are all set!

My daughter has a metal framed futon and I wanted her to be comfortable, so I didn’t want to buy just any old futon mattress. I know how hard it is to purchase something sight unseen and based off of reviews, but I took a chance based on the reviews I saw for this mattress. I typically don’t write reviews, but I felt this one was well worth it. I’ve tried several other futon mattress throughout the years and this one by far was the most comfortable! We have movie night in her room just so I can lay in her bed lol. I’m so happy I made this purchase and she loves her mattress!

While this futon looked very nice when we purchased it, the hidden drawbacks continue to be evident three months after we purchased it. When it arrived, we unrolled it and put it outside to fluff up and off-gas, as other reviewers recommended. Many hours later we brought it in and set it up. The smell was still very strong. This is a thick and very firm futon. My 15 yr. old son sleeps on it every night, and it shows with the big dip that seems to be permanent in the middle. I'm not sure flipping it would help as the stuffing is now very compressed in the middle. Update after 10 months: Still has the chemical smell. My son flipped the futon every night before going to be in hopes that it would be more comfortable, but no luck. He developed back pains in the morning from this futon. He's on a different bed now and the pains are gone. Wish I could return this thing as it's no use to us now. While the smell is barely noticeable when we keep the doors to the room open where it's located, at night he closes the doors when he sleeps. In the morning, the smell from the futon is quite strong and needs a while to air out. This is concerning since my son's face is next to it all night. What kinds of chemicals are used in the manufacturing process? I'm now past the return window and am stuck with it. I was hoping that the smell would dissipate after some time but it doesn't seem to change.
