I had to replace an extremely nice 8" thick futon mattress that was ruined by a pet, but didn't have a big budget, so I settled on this one. I admit I did not have high expectations since it was less expensive and only 6" thick, and it arrived folded into a large box, so I was ready to be disappointed. Boy, was I surprised after it was laid out and the folds settled. It is surprisingly comfortable. I would definitely sleep on this for a night or two if necessary! If I had anything negative to say about it, I guess it would be about the zippered cover on it because it is fairly thin slick polyester type fabric which is ok, but I wonder how long it would hold up over time. (Note, I ended up purchasing an inexpensive waterproof pad and a medium priced beautiful linen type zippered cover to put over the mattress and now it's perfect.) Bottom line: I highly recommend this mattress, especially at this price point!

I recently moved to a new apartment and now by bedroom also includes my office and all my dog's stuff. So I wanted a bed that wouldn't take up too much space. When I voiced my thoughts on switching from a full to a twin, EVERYONE was going on about how that just wouldn't do if I ever had a friend of a certain intimacy level over... My friends, new roommate, even my MOM! A futon that transforms was my genius compromise idea. After two or so nights, I realized I could feel the frame through this mattress. I decided just to get a second one, for more cushioning. ****Fast forward two weeks: I'm not exactly surprised there's a divot where my hips spend the night that affects the comfort level by a lot. Most futons are used primarily as couches, for weight to be distributed across the pad, not to handle the same body shape sleeping on it every night. Luckily, I'm able to just put my pillow on the other end of my mastermind bed plan and my hips aren't laying in an uncomfortable position. I hope the mattresses return to their original states and all I have to do is switch back and forth or rotate the mattress periodically. Totally wouldn't mind that at all. PROS - great price for a pretty solid mattress for a futon COUCH - fits a futon frame perfectly - lightweight - arrived several days early, both times CONS - on the thin side - not intended to substitute as a bed mattress haha!

I previously purchased a Futon cushion that was way too thick and heavy so when I moved I left it behind. I thought this thinner one would be perfect but unfortunately the filling does not give much support. It's nice and light to move but you will have to get extra cushioning. Too bad :(

Idk about pain relief, it doesn’t cause pain so I gave a 3 star in that area. I’ve sat on it & it’s firm enough for now. You can’t feel the futon rods under the mattress. I suppose if you wanted to you could add some kind of support under the mattress to extend its life. But very satisfied with this mattress, really is worth the money. My only issue was that it arrived in a beat up box that had a few holes & the mattress wasn’t covered in plastic or anything. I received it in 5 days, so faster than expected since it wasn’t Prime eligible.

I was scared to buy this because of negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that it made a nice replacement cushion for my futon sofa. I laid on it and couldn’t feel the metal support springs through it. If you wanted to sleep on it every night, I’d say go with a thicker, more expensive foam mattress. But just needing something to sit on, this was a good option without spending a lot of money. It arrived quickly & isn’t “flat”. It has a nice, zippered, washable cover. I’m very happy with it.

So just so you know I bought this mattress twice. Once for less than $100 then again earlier this year for like $120. I find it surprising that such a "cheap" mattress keeps steadily climbing in price (it's currently $154 at the time of this review writing) when the only reason I tolerated buying from the same vendor two times in the first place was because the price was formally reasonable for the subpar product that you'd be receiving. Again, the mattress is NOT 6 inches thick, it's 4, and while it feels decent at first, it doesn't take long for the mattress to go flat on you after a few uses. Thus why I purchased the second one to put it on top. Sadly even that one went flat, which brought me back here. With the price constantly increasing, I think that's my que to buy a mattress who's quality matches the price point instead of this one, which doesn't in any way shape or form.

I lived on futons through out college, and hated moving them from dorm to dorm, kind of like dragging a body bag around, well.....somebody re-thought this one, it's awesome!! now, I'm saying...I'll never buy another regular mattress!! One night in and I'm re-thinking throwing my $1000 mattress away, and going with another one of these. OK college kids, order this, price is great, folds perfect, is not at all like the horrid cotton 300lb futon that takes 2 people to drag down the hall. I don't see this flattening out, or needed to be fluffed. Hands down, I would buy this again!!
