I had my doubts about it, but I find it to be comfortable. It’s not thick enough, so I can feel the floor beneath me still, but I’ve found since I began to sleep on this, that I’m not in as much pain as I used to be. To be honest, when I first started using this my back was killing me. It was not as comfortable as my old bed. Personally I have the queen size Futon and I fold it in half for double the layers. I've gotten used to the hardness and I feel great waking up in the morning now! It takes up much less space than my old bed. I needed something more compact as I was moving homes into a smaller room. Purchased the mattress for tent camping. In photos, the mattress is on a platform to show thickness. It worked well for my mid aged body each night, waking with no pain. (Layered blankets on top as well) It was kind of the company to add in sheets matching the mattress. It does great for what it's made for. The only thing I would suggest needs improvement is the way it's packaged for travel. It comes in a large bag with two straps for tightening. However, one strap broke on me as it's made of plastic. I don't think the straps were made to really hold strength in scrunching the mattress together, it traveled rather big and bulky when folded. Hope this helps 😊 ... show more

I'm not sure what the above review "Deceptive picture/advertisement" was expecting, but I think they may simply have been unaware of what they were buying. This is not an inflatable bed mattress like one might find elsewhere, this is specifically a futon mat. As a Japanese item, it's much lower profile and is intended more or less to be directly slept upon on the floor with much less padding than a regular US mattress. That said, this is quite comfortable for a futon mat, and the memory foam does a great job at keeping its shape. Having a cover is really the most important thing here to extend longevity as putting the entire mat in an oversized washing machine will shorten its lifespan considerably -- this is way bulkier than a comforter. It's a cute pattern, and the product as held up well so far. The "bag" is quite thin and really was only good for shipping it in, but the straps make it easier to roll up for longer storage and there are plenty of other ways to keep things tidy. It's a bit on the expensive side, but if you know what you're getting and treat it well I think it'll last a long time. ... show more

This is like egg carton foam and uncomfortable. I wanted to return it and they said return in original box to UPS. Well it was vacuum sealed then put in a small box so it obviously doesn’t fit. So I take it to the UPS store because that was my only option. And they wanted me to pay $36 for a box and tape to put it in. Lame! ... show more

Bought this mattress as a replacement for one we already had , but of a different brand, hoping it was as good or better...Decently sized ,as we bought the full, however it didn't shape out to be very fluffy or as shown in picture. It looks like a decent mattress but it doesn't fill out that much. The cover that came with it is made of very cheap fabric and already had a hole in the fabric at the zipper seem.. We are using it as a camp bed in our SUV for camping, and outdoor living but it will definitely need another cushion added with it, as it isn't very comfy. Doing the job but is only going to work temporarily unfortunately. We spent less on our previous floor mattress and of much better quality and was hoping it was a better version but nor really. ... show more

I love this futon! Its fairly comfortable to lay on, and rolling it back up to put in its storage sleeve wasn't too difficult, especially with the help of the belt straps holding it together. It's still is pretty big when rolled up though, which could be a problem for those with limited space if they want it to be hidden away when not in use. Even with a nice bifold frame it feels hard to lay on for extended periods of time. I wish it were just a bit thicker, but my biggest issue by far was the pattern. If you've ever eaten in bed and kept finding crumbs in it afterwards and constantly feel the need to wipe it down, this has the exact same issue but without any of the crumbs. I wouldn't recommend it for that reason alone unless you plan on putting a mattress topper of some sort over it. ... show more
