I purchased this dehumidifier for my large, damp basement. I have previously owned 3 different household dehumidifiers. Each quickly burned out and became useless after a year or less. In the beginning, I had many questions and concerns about the Mounto's function. A lengthy back and forth discussion with the manufacturer ensued. Their willingness to communicate was 5 stars all the way. (I have not always found this true with Amazon vendors) The humidity in my basement has now dropped below 50%. (NOTE: The indoor humidity on the first level of my un-air conditioned home is in the high 80s.) The MOUNTO dumidifier is running continuously, removing moisture and pumping out the holding tank automatically. Damp basement problem solved. Thank you, MOUNTO. ... show more

This unit was working great, but now I get an E4 error. So, it shuts off, and I have to unplug it and plug it back it to get it to work. This is happening every day now.

    • Poor Longevity, Lack of Repair Options
This product was purchased through Amazon after reviewing many others of the same type. The key point was being able to have it repaired locally if necessary. This was in 2020/2021. It worked great until it didn't. It did frost over, the humidity level was set too low. Turned it off. Unplugged it. Let it defrost. Had electrician's come and upgrade the outlet. Plugged it in, it turned on for the blink of an eye then shut down the circuit. The electrician hit reset on the outlet, plugged back in, same result. Took apart the three prong plug and replaced it. Same result. Tested the outlet with another device, worked fine. Tested the cord unplugged from the dehumidifier, cord was fine. I can't locate the manual. I have not been able to reach anyone at Mounto in CA. The phone number on the website is not a business number, was reassigned to a mobile phone. When it worked, it was terrific. Now I have no way to get it checked out or repaired. The repair shops that were available three years ago are no longer available. Appliance shops only want appliances like oven, washer/dryer. HVAC shops only want to address whole house HVAC systems. So word to the wise, ask yourself who are going to call? A previous reviewer did reach Mounto Customer Service and had a positive experience but as of November 2023, I have not located a customer service phone number for Mounto. The address on the website points to an industrial park at 27 Hughes Street Irvine CA but no listing of which companies are located there. ... show more
