  • Well Designed Quality Motorized Shades Update: Solar Panels Working 100% after One Year!
Color: Linen Stone
Precise measuement of your window frames (if you mount the shades inside the window frame) is important. In my case, some window frames had apparently been tweaked during installation with spackle at the very top, which made a tight fit for the shade assembly. It is best to pay particular attention to precise measurements at the TOP of the frame (where the shade unit will reside). In my case I just measured a couple of places to determine the smallest frame width, but did NOT actually measure where the shade assembly would be installed at the very top of the inside frame. My bad, but some sanding made the shade assembly fit properly. I installed five shades of verious sizes in my bedroom, so ordered a five-channel remote control, which works fine. I discovered that while the remote allows selection of each of the five blinds, there is a sixth "channel" where all five of the channel LED's on the remote remain lighted. This "phantom" channel (pressing the channel select button in sequence until all LEDs are ON, not just individual channel LEDs) allows all the five windows to be controlled simultaneously with a single presss of he shade up or down key, similar to channel zero on the 15-channel remote. Each window shade came programmed properly so that the remote controller had each of its channels linked to a specific window shade. Each shade had a label indicating all its particulars (size, window name). When a shade is lowered to fully closed positon, a moment before reaching the window sill the shade shows down and eases gently into its fully down position. Nice touch. I ordered the Solar Panels for each shade, and they appear to be working fine. Time will tell if I will need to occasionally directly charge their batteries, but early indications are that the solar panels are doing their job. Screened windows and those facing North are not ideal locations for window-mounted solar panels. Shipping and packing was exemplary. Double cardboard packaging, plastic interior corner protectors, foam, and every possible shipping safeguard was used and the shades arrived unscathed. I was concerned that standard shipping might subject the shades to rough handling, so opted for the $100 expedited shipping offered by Amazon. It was worth the cost: shipping was by UPS Expedited, and the entire custom order took eleven days from day of order to delivery (from China !!). As mentioned in the instructions, each shade motor is turned OFF during shipping and needs to be rutned ON for operation. The ON/OFF button and motor charge port are covered during shipping with a small soft horseshoe shaped foam shipping cover that needs to be pried out and discarded to expose the motor assembly. I ordered the Weffort Roller Fabric blackout fabric samples booklet and it was well worh the small charge (arrived next day Prime). Weffort offers a gazillion blackout fabric samples and having the actual fabric in hand made ordering much easier. One of my windows is fairly wide, and three mounting attachmens were included in the order for that shade (they come attached to the top of the shade assembly during shipment). Based on my previous experience with mounting a wide motorized shade, in order for the shade assembly to snap into the three attachments screwed to the top of the inside frame they need to be precisely alighed with each other. The instructions indicate that the attachment brackets should be attached to the top of the shade assembly in their final locations, which then gets held up in it final position inside the window frame and the front edges of the three bracket marked in sharp pencil on the eindow frame so the brackets can then be removed from the frame and screwed precisely to the top of the window frame in their aligned positons. In my case I was working alone and manhandling the shade assembly up it its final position so I could mark the three bracket locations was not workable. I installed the two outside brackets, and to install the center third bracket I used a laser to align the center bracket front face with the two already installed side brackets so they were all in a precise line. If the center bracket is out of line, snapping the shade assembly reliably into the three brackets can be problematic. First choice: follow the directions for marking the location of the three brackets while they are temporarily attached to the top of the shade assembly, but that means two people need to be involved. Alternative is to install the two outside brackets and then precisely align the third center bracked with a laser, or streatched string. Before finally attempting to attach the shade assembly to the installed brackets be sure to study exactly how the brackets work (they have a small movale spring assembly mechanism), and when you aligh everything the shade assembly snaps into plece in each of the three mounting brackets. Much has been said about the quality of the Weffort motorized shades in other comments, and I wholeheartely agree. Every elements of the shades was of the highest quality, and all shades were perfectly aligned with my windows (alas, measure carefully the width of the opening at the very top of inside mounted shades). Measure again just to be sure. Double check the order before you hit "Buy" so that every one of your double-checked correct measurements appear error free in your order. I installed blackout shades for a bedroom, and while there is a small area along each side of the shade where some light comes through, I find it totally acceptable. If this installation was for a home theater and total darkness was required I might have considered the optional side brackets that help block light. After ordering my shades I visited the Weffort web site to read the FAQ's, only to discover that they were offering a substantial seasonal discount on orders over $600 (mine was double that cost). Having ordered on Amazon I was unaware of the discount, so missed out. It might be worthwhile to check the Weffort web site to make sure they are not offering a seasonal discount before ordering shades. In summary, a great experience buying very high quality, meticulously assembled and packaged Weffort motorized shades. UPDATE March 2025: I ordered another two large outside-mount blackout shades on March 22 and they arrived (from China to Maryland, U.S.A.) on March 28 , for a total of six days from order to delivery! I did not pay for expedited shipping, and as usual, customer support kept me posted on progress of the order and shipping date. They were shipped UPS, and because of the very meticulous packaging they arrived in perfect condition. Another great job by a first-class and customer focused vendor. Update on Feb 27, 2026: I have been using the solar panels that were options with the shades and they have exceeded my expectations. I have them on a total of seven shaded windows and in over one year I have not had to manually recharge any shade. They have all worked a minimum of two times per day, wihout fail. I am located in Maryland (East coast U.S.) and the solar panels are on windows that face North, East, and West, and each is installed on a window that has a window screen. So even violating the standard solar panel rules of: No North facing window, and Not obstructed by a window screen, these solar panels are defying expectations and are doing better than I ever hoped. Over one year+ of flawless option (yikes: solar panels even on two North facing windows that are "obstructed" by window screens?? You bet) including the solar panels with your order is a low-risk upgrade to these excellent shades. ... show more

  • These Shades Are Amazing!!!!! These Shades Are Amazing!!!!!
Color: Classic White
I have windows in my living room that are about 16 feet high and used to have the motorized cellular shades that I purchased from a popular national hardware store. I saw these and must admit, the price initially drew me in. But after all the customizations were made, the price more than doubled (and that is with discounts. I had 4 windows that I needed to replace the coverings. I started by ordering one shade to see how it would look. If you want to use and app or Alexa to control the shade, you will need to purchase a hub. The hub was can control multiple shades, so I only need to buy one to control my 4 shades. The hub is very easy to set up, using teh SmartThings App. Please not that you will have to be on 2.4 GHz wifi. There are two remotes that you can purchase. One remote can control up to 15 shades and teh other can control 5 shades. I will only have 4 shades at the most, so I went with the latter. There are about 18 customizations you need to make when picking your shade including: height, width, valance, side of motor, remote, hub, color, bottom rod type, roll position, inside or outside mount, motor type, and light blockers. I am very impressed with these shades. They operate very smoothly. They have an elegant look and are premium quality. The motor is very quiet and move smooth like butter. They are very easy to charge and install. It took me about 15 minutes per shade and most of that time was because I was working on a ladder 16 feet off the ground. The company's communication is awesome. After each of my orders, they emailed me one last time to confirm that I ordered the correct size. They also notified me when my orders shipped and provided a tracking number. The shades arrived very quickly. I would say a little over a week from me placing my order to them arriving at my house. That includes making and shipping. They were packaged very well and had everything that I needed to properly install them. If you purchased a remote. The shades or shade that you purchased with remote will come preprogramed to the remote. Any other subsequent shade purchased will have to be programmed to the remote separately, which is very easy to do. I ordered my remote with my first of 3 shades, so it was only programed to my first shade. I not only had to program the remote to my additional 2 shades that I purchased, but I had to erase the program of the orignal shade and reprogram it because I wanted it on a different channel on the remote other than the first one that I came preprogrammed at. As I mentioned, it was very easy though, using the directions provided. Adding them to the hub is even easier after they are programmed to the remote. I will admit that I hit a snag in my installation. I could not find the instructions for the hub and remote and was stuck. The video on youtube about this is wrong. It had me hitting the up bottom to lock in the program, but I should have been hitting the middle/stop button. Also, he is a nugget to get you started. The shades are sent in shipping mode to prevent unintentional operation in transit. You have to hold the program button to wake them up. I went with the outside mount over the inside mount option. They both allow a bit of ambient light through the edges. There is really no way around that. You can make it a bit better by making your shade bigger, but by making it bigger, you are also making it more expensive. So, you have to find a balance. I can accept the little light that I have coming from the edges of my shades. It looks like a halo effect to me. The shades themself are true blackout and blocks all light. I am very, very, very impressed with these shades and glad that I purchased them. I will say that they are not cheap though. I have already purchased 3 and have 1 more to go to complete my living room. I give these shades on of my highest recommendations. They are easy to set up and use. I like that I can control them with an app, a remote or Alexa (my favorite). ... show more

  • Well made motorized shades Well made motorized shades
Color: Texture White
I ordered two motorized shades for guest bedrooms. I currently have light filtering top/down-bottom up shades in the room, but they weren’t enough to block street/car lights at night. Was considering blackout curtains, but wanted a more streamlined look. We have motorized shades in living/dining room that were purchased through a local vendor that were very expensive and didn’t want to to reorder from the same vendor due to cost. Decided to look at Amazon, and I’m glad I did! Decided to order black-out, outside mounted shades. Took measurements, decided on the fabric (took a chance not ordering swatches) and ordered. Got a confirmation from the company with details and they were very responsive to questions.. Received order well in advance of projected delivery date! They came very well packed. Laid out units in each bedroom with all hardware and instructions. Easy to understand installation booklets were included. It took about 45 minutes to install! We charged the motors (took a few hours), released the shipping locking mechanism, then put the batteries in the remote. (Double check instruction booklets for steps. I think we may have done something out of sequence.) Pushed the remote for “down” and they glided effortlessly and quietly to cover the window! Great quality for the price! The shades retract beautifully too. At night, they provide the needed “blackout” to darken the room for a better night sleep. These won’t be used unless guests sleeping in the room, so they won’t get daily use. Hopefully the motor will hold the charge. I ordered the “textured white” color. It is cool white, but still works with our warmer white walls. These were a great purchase! ... show more

  • The Purchase and Installation were a Breeze
Color: Linen Stone
We needed a blind that would fit over our front door to block afternoon sun, which was causing a nuisance, so we decided on this one. I wanted it to be motorized, remote controlled, have a scheduled operation and available for use with Google Assistant, which was what I have installed in our home. I ordered the blind in the exact size that I needed for the door. The order was taken, and the company quickly confirmed the size needed via eMail. Even though the shade was made in China and had a fairly long declared deliver time, it was made, shipped and received in very short order, about two weeks I think I remember. Once it arrived, I immediately installed it which was as simple as finding the studs in the wall and placing two screws (I used my own screws which were longer, but I am sure theirs would have worked fine.) in each support bracket. It was the perfect size and took 10-15 minutes to install, then I charged it overnight. The next day, I attempted to install the hub and had a problem getting the procedure to work as outlined in the documentation, it didn't want to connect to the SmartLife app. I contacted the company, and they sent me a replacement hub (from the USA), I received it in a couple of days and the installation worked as described with no further issues. I setup a schedule in the "SmartLife" app on my phone and it has been working automatically ever since. It works of course with the remote, the app or by commands to Google Assistant. The shade motor is reasonably quiet and the shade itself is the perfect color for our decor and blocks the sun, which was our goal. The blind has been working for over a month now and I have not had to charge it again so it will likely go several months without having to recharge the battery. We did quite a lot of preliminary shopping before settling on this shade and have been glad that we did. It was less expensive that most of the competition and is a high quality, well-built device. We would buy from this company again when blinds are needed. ... show more

  • Easy to install and operate and look nice. Easy to install and operate and look nice.
Color: Gentle Pale Grey
So I really like these. They were pretty simple to hang; I just did it myself with a drill. And I think they look nice. I didn’t get the side light blocker things, so there is a little light showing between them and on the sides, but they still block out a ton of light. They keep the room plenty dark when I have a migraine. They also look and feel high quality. And the remote control is great - so easy and quick to use. I can set them to any height. Plus, the motor is very quiet. I haven’t set up the Alexa feature yet because the remote is already so handy. But so far no issues with the shades. And they were like 1/3 the price quoted to me by custom shade places. For the money, I think it’s a great buy. Does the job well, is easy to operate, and looks simple and classy. I would recommend these. ... show more

  • This is How it's Done
Color: Linen Caramel
I'd give 10 stars if I could. I don't usually write very extensive or lengthy reviews, if any at all, but every once in a while you just have that one experience that goes so far above and beyond expectations. For starters, I don't usually buy "big ticket" items on Amazon. I learned my lesson last year when I bought a $1200 furniture item that turned out to be a nightmare in every way possible. It was from a Chinese company and the return was absolutely painful. I had to fight weeks to have the shipping costs ($900) reimbursed for the return. Amazon was very helpful and ultimately I made the return and was fully reimbursed. I swore rom then on... NEVER AGAIN. Amazon would solely be used for trash bag and shampoo refills. Then came the time to purchase a motorized shade for a large glass sliding door. I had been looking at large shades over the last several months and needless to say, they are quite expensive. And then I found WEFFORT. Right off the bat, the customization interface on Amazon was probably the easiest order I've ever made online. The listing is clear with tons of photos and your options are clearly laid out for you. In minutes I was able to design a motorized rolling shade to my exact specifications. I placed the order and was in disbelief at the very reasonable price, it was too good to be true. My wife and figured the ordering process was so easy and complete that a purchase was worth the risk, everything was so on point up to that moment. After making the purchase, I did have some questions, especially since this a completely custom made item and the company clearly states there are no returns. Understandably so. Immediately after purchasing, I sent a list of questions and within minutes had a reply from Daniel. And THAT'S the difference. For the next two days Daniel and I had a back and forth - I had questions, he had answers and vice versa. He promised me he wanted to be sure I received exactly what I was ordering and he made excellent recommendations regarding the motor system, the solar power, charging options and the valance choice. I sent him photos of the room and he had ideas. For the first time ever, and I've made hundreds of Amazon purchases, a merchant was actually attentive and genuinely concerned about the customer receiving the absolute best product they can supply... and Daniel did not disappoint. I received the shade ahead of the scheduled delivery date and immediately installed it. Installation took under 10 minutes and the directions were very clear. Within no time my whole family was enthralled by the shade watching it go up and down over and over again. It's like a part of the family now - even the dogs are in love. Being a relatively new home owner, I cannot reiterate enough the amount of heartbreak and disappointment I experience regularly from furniture manufacturers, contractors and services. It's mostly bad or mediocre work at a very high price. This experience with WEFFORT was a perfect example of how things should be and I look forward to buying more from them. They EARNED a customer for life. ... show more

Step by step instructions for measuring window dimensions were very clear and easy to follow. Out of the box the shades looked exactly as shown on the product page, and installation was very simple. Fit to each of the 5 windows was precise. Remote control startup and operation was also very easy and intuitive. Able to set up the top, bottom, and favorite positions within a few minutes with just a few button clicks. Motor operation is smooth and quiet! These shades are not only great quality, but the bonus is they are quick to install and no need to rely on traditional installation professionals who come to your home. • Great shade, but Homekit pairing was difficult.
Color: Classic White
I really like these shades. They look great, work great, and are pretty easy to install. They came sized just right. Configuration was not difficult and offered lots of options. I like the solar panel option, at least for windows that get some sun. Time will tell how well it works. My one issue was that pairing with Homekit was difficult. I have installed four shades and it look multiple tries each time. The best case was two or three tries, the worst were over ten tries. I did finally get it on all of them. A tip I would like to offer is the do the pairing before installing the shades. It's easier to see the blinking red light and press the pairing button when it's sitting on a table than when it's mounted above a window. There is a way to do the pairing using the remote instead of the button on the shade, but since it failed so may times I had to try all ways, and I had trouble seeing the red light, which doesn't stay on very long, with the shade mounted. One thing to be careful of is if you just press the button on the shade instead of hold it down, the shade will begin unrolling, so be prepared to press it again to stop it if it does. Another thing I did that I think helped was to scan the Homekit code with my phone before holding down the button to enter pairing mode, then pressing the final Add button in the Home app when the LED starts blinking red. I think Weffort should work on making this process more reliable. I've added a lot of devices to Homekit and this was the hardest I have come across. Otherwise I would have given it five stars. ... show more
