  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Good value, tough material
It fit my sons phone well and came with a screen protector that also fit well. Great material for my athletic son but the paint scratches up. The button placement is spot on and it doesn't slip off any. Overall great case for the price.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Best case for value
After a few years, my old case was showing it's age, and I liked it so much that I was reluctant to replace it. Then I realized what would be obvious to anyone else - I can just buy the same exact case again. So my phone now looks as good as new, and I didn't have to adjust to a new look and feel. Man, getting old is a bummer, sometimes the easiest solutions are right there, and we overlook them... ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive, and no problems so far....
I got this a couple of months ago. This phone case DOES fit my Motorola phone, and I have the oval-shaped camera on the back, if you are someone with that same issue. Some people complained it's hard to open, but using the tip of a butter knife to open the case itself made it a cinch, although I haven't tried taking it off again. The protective film over the front is just fine on mine, I saw some people complain about it, although it does take a bit of the sensitivity out from around the very outside edges of the screen. Overall, it was really cheap and does exactly what it's supposed to, I really can't complain! The little kickstand is pretty sturdy too. So far, so good...! ... show more

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars Design flaws reduce its utility
This case seems to be one of the more highly recommended ones for my chosen Moto G7 smartphone, but almost immediately I began encountering design flaws that will force me to return the case or rectify myself; one of them I already have to a degree. I first noticed the precarious design of the kickstand. It is made almost entirely of plastic save the hinge, including the "runners" which must slide underneath the body of the case to articulate the hinge. Those runners or tabs are also plastic, and will be prone to breakage; already one side has pulled free of the case entirely as I tried to disengage the kickstand. The "speed bumps" which lock the kickstand in place are also plastic, and over time will wear down and render the kickstand useless. I haven't yet determined if or how I might modify the case myself to make the kickstand mechanism more robust. The second design flaw I encountered is the rubberized cover for the headphone jack. This cover and its hinge are made of thermoplastic "rubber". Unfortunately, the hinge portion of this cover is much thicker material than the similar USB-C cover, for no reason other than a bit of aesthetic contouring. This extra hinge material means that the hinge resists being opened quite a bit more, resulting in considerable lateral force being placed on the headphone plug and jack. I have experienced such lateral pressure destroying other 3.5mm audio jacks, and in my estimation the pressure exerted by this flap while opened is sufficient to cause eventual failure of the phone's headphone jack. I have rectified this in the short term by very carefully cutting shallow grooves with an X-Acto knife on the inside of the flap. This has reduced the applied pressure to a degree that I consider safe, but there is a possibility the shallow incisions may eventually deepen from the stress and shear the flap off entirely, which is not a result I desire. Nevertheless, I shouldn't have needed to act myself to rectify a design flaw. Third, the USB-C cover of the case is also flawed: the width of the opening is much too restrictive, and blocks use of the common monobody USB 3.0-to-USB-C adapters, such as the ones I bought here at Amazon at the same time as this case. Even though the adapter is barely wider than a USB 3.0 jack and fits side-by-side with itself in most devices with multiple USB-C ports, as demonstrated in reviews, it won't fit through this case to connect with the phone. The cover opening is bordered by hard plastic, not the thermoplastic of the cover itself, so there is no margin for error. Yes, I could once again do some McGyvering and either remove some of the aluminum skin from the sides of the adapter or whittle down the plastic of the case bordering the USB-C cover, but the result will be a weakened product and not what I paid to receive in exchange. What other design flaws yet exist for me to discover? Exercise caution, dear reader, because the flaws I describe above are not ones you could identify or anticipate prior to purchase, short of a review like this one. I found another one: there is no access flap for the MicroSD and SIM cards. In order to gain access to them, the case must be dismantled and the phone completely removed. That will of course necessitate a full repeat of the clean-room process you used getting the phone into the case in the first place to avoid trapped dust or fingerprint smudges... minutes wasted, all for an operation that otherwise takes all of five seconds. The case is also not designed for doing such a thing routinely, so every time you crack it open you run a risk of compromising its integrity. DO NOT consider this case if you have any expectation of using a MicroSD card in portable mode and swapping it in and out routinely. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Great case but poor screen protector
Pro's: 1. Case seems well engineered 2. Snug Fit around case, while having cushion room between frame and exoskeleton to absorb impact. 3. Stand in back works great. 4. Screen protector sits nicely on top of phone and does not remove sensitivity to touch 5. Overall feel and look are great, and protection of phone appears exceptional (will update if this proves not to be the case, for now it remains untested). Cons: 1. due to added cushion of air between the frame and exoskeleton, the case adds a substantial size to the phone. It looks funny in my pockets. This is, however, an acceptable consequence to add protection on a notoriously fragile phone. 2. Fit around phone is very tight, even for me, a 200 lb man who regularly power-lifts, it is difficult to get off. 3. While trying to get the case off, the added roughage to the protector bent the soft plastic and permanently warped the screen protector. 4. While rubbing my finger over the screen protector to confirm I did actually warp it, my fingernail somehow scratched large divots across the protector. So moral of this story, the screen protector is insanely soft and fragile. 5. Finally, although its difficult to tell and impossible to feel when poking the screen, the protector sits unevenly across the screen and induces a distracting "rainbow effect" where it is in direct contact. its hard to describe what that means, google has the answer. As others have mentioned, I would agree that the best utility of this product is in the frame/phone protector, and not the added screen protector. I will likely break this screen protector off (easy and possible to do, it just pops right out) and put another type on. Even buying this case for this purpose merits its price, and I could not be happier with the phone protection. The reason issues with this screen protector doesn't merit a down-rated score is because for what the product is, I do not see how it would be possible or feasible to improve the design. Any phone case that comes with a removable frame/screen protector hybrid will likely have some unfavorable issue (rainbow effect, uneven fit, fragile, etc.). Just know going into this purchase that the screen protector on the case is not ideal, and you will likely find yourself purchasing a supplemental protector. ... show more
