These are thing, not the very fine museum and artist quality, but so fairly priced (hey, that matters). I love square shapes and this is a good size. If you want a smooth canvas, you'll need more layers of gesso. That said, this is fine, a bit absorbent of acrylics, but perfect (really perfect) for mixed media. I bought these for my girls who love to paint. 4 and 10, and they shared with some of the neighborhood girls as well (4,11 and 15). Our box of 14 did not even last a week. Every canvas has been used. I think they liked the smaller size. And the easel makes it easy for them to display their art. The easel is not the most durable, but it is functional. We will totally be buying another box or 5 of these. The size will make great gifts as well for mother's day, Father's day and even the winter holidays. These could be used in many different ways. i was so glad to see that a canvas producer includes the little wooden keys that help to keep the canvas tight - not all canvases include those and i don't know why but no matter i'll just buy these - nice!
