These cell phone cases are durable and classy. I purchased one over a year ago and it has held up to me dropping my phone as I get out of my car and it lands on concrete or asphalt! I wear scrubs at work and have occasionally missed my cargo pocket and phone hits the hard hospital floor. I’m able to pick it up wipe it off with an antibacterial wipe and keep going! The case is rugged. Initially, after spending more on my phone than I did on my first car, I was afraid to take it out of the house. I ordered several cases to try out, and I chose this one over the rest (Otterbox and other top names included in the mix). And I have been nothing but satisfied ever since. The case feels solid. The weight of my phone in it can pull my pants down if I'm not careful, but considering that I'm essentially carrying around a computer and a high-grade camera, what can I expect? But I digress. The case is solid. I have dropped it too many times to count and it's held up amazingly. It has literally bounced along the ground sometimes. Combine it with a quality screen protector, and you'll be good to go. It does well in the water too. I take advantage of my phone's waterproofness a lot. It's fun to see what's under the surface of the rivers and lakes from your kayak. A good bath in dish soap takes that glorious river smell right out. The only qualm I have is that my entire phone is protected except for the lenses. Granted, the raised lip of the case has kept them from breaking in all of those drops, but I feel I'm on borrowed time. The magnetic charging capability is a little weak. I can't use about half of all the wireless chargers I've tried to use, and the ones that do work can't really be trusted to maintain the connection throughout the charge. I mark it up as a trade-off for an incredibly durable case. This past week, the edge has begun to warp and after another big drop, one side has turned up a bit, creating a sharp edge. I had an x-doria case for my old iPhone and it went through the ringer. It was dropped (accidentally) out of cars, off of heavy equipment, had things dropped on it, and went through quite a bit more than I ever hoped it would go through. The case is dinged, but the phone is fine. When it was time to upgrade the phone, this was the case I chose without looking at other brands. A few things to note: 1. The rear of the case is clear. It will scratch very easily. If you want a pretty case that doesn't show scratches, don't get this one. Personally, I could care less about the clear backing on the case. 2. It's a TIGHT FIT. Once you put the phone in the case, it's not coming out easily. In fact, I had a difficult time getting the phone in the case. It doesn't move around which is good, and yes, some dust might get behind the phone, but again, if the phone is safe who cares. 3. The rainbow metallic color might chip. If it does, be happy that it chipped but nothing broke. So far, I'm really pleased with the design and fit of the new case and I have zero regrets on purchasing it. ... show more

I REALLY wanted to like this case. It seems very sturdy and durable and the anodized aluminum is beautiful. However, the TPU is grey, not black. It looks black in the pictures and packaging. I don’t understand why the design choice was to use a muted color instead of black which would provide nice contrast. I just really don’t like the color combination. I even considered dying the TPU but for $25+ that’s a lot of extra effort. It also came with scratches on the inside of the clear paneling. I’ve ordered a different anodized case from another company and depending on how I like that one I’ll likely be returning this one. ... show more

    • Waterproof! Saved My New iPhone 12!!!

I normally don't write reviews, but after today's miracle, i need to share. My Raptor case protects my new iPhone 12 like no other. Today, I was walking in the local park, listening to music on Spotify. As I was crossing a wooden footbridge, I decided to photograph the ducks. After snapping a few pictures, I started to put my iPhone in my jacket pocket. I fumbled the iPhone in my hands. The earbuds unhooked. The iPhone bounced twice on the wooden bridge -- and then fell into the running brook. I drove home, trying to figure out how to make an insurance claim for my iPhone as I did not believe I would be able to recover it. My son dropped by, and I told him what happened. He said, "Let's go back to the park together -- right now. It's a shallow brook. I think I can retrieve your phone." When I questioned the wisdom of his proposal, my son stated, "Your insurance claim will be much higher if you don't have a phone to return." By the time we arrived at the park, the iPhone had been underwater for about two hours. My son scooted the ducks out of the way and found my iPhone! It was not working, nor did I expect it to work. When I returned home, I set the phone on my counter and went searching for my phone rice bag. When I returned to the iPhone, I was amazed! The iPhone was working! I could not believe it. I credit the new iPhone technology AND the Raptor case, as I believe the case kept water out -- for two long hours!!! Happy! Happy! I love this case, its iridescent sheen and clear back perfectly compliments my purple/lavender iPhone 12 mini. This is my second case, the first one did chip under extreme circumstances (this occurred when my angry child threw my phone on a hard surface). The phone survived unscathed, with no scratches, the edge of the cover did chip but it protected the phone. I think that it would be just fine in less extreme circumstances. ... show more
