Hes lost a few ounces and is becoming a better acrobat. When he jumps in the air when he’s playing he can now twist a lot better. I have very large rescue cat who is on a weight-loss program. I'm glad that this one does not fall under prescription status. You MUST read calorie content of cat food. 1 cup of dry food can range 300 calories to 450 calories. A cat requires 20 calories per target weight! This dry cat food is 254 cals per cup. I ordered a 14 lb bag, still pricer than commercial brands, but it lasts 2.5 months. As he gets closer to his goal, I can mix it with another brand. I have a cat that is hungry 24 seven. I don’t like to feed him too much but I know he’s always hungry. He’s a very large cat so I do give him this dry food once a day and he loves it so much that he knocks over the canister I have it in to ask me for more. I cannot tell you how it taste obviously, but you would think something that was weight management would not taste good. He likes this better than any dry food that I have given him and I don’t have to worry about it adding weight to him. In addition, I do load this in my automatic feeder when I go away for one or two days and both my catseat all of the portions I a lot for them in the automatic feeder. It does come in a larger bag, but I bought this because it’s easier to handle as I am a senior citizen. Cat 1: —12 years old —always free-fed —no weight issues —8 lbs. (historical baseline ~6.8 lbs.; she gained some weight after she recovered from an accident and two surgeries) —5 weeks in: 7.6 lbs. —8 weeks in: 7.4 lbs. —10 weeks in: weight stable Cat 2: —~4 years old —will eat every chance she gets —15.4 lbs. baseline —5 weeks: 14.6 lbs. —8 weeks: 14 lbs. —10 weeks: 14.4 lbs. Both cats were free-fed diet cat food for slightly over 10 weeks. (I know, ideally I would have separated them and measured their food individually…) Both cats really liked the cat food (I think more than their normal Meow Mix), and both cats lost weight.
