  • Great value if you can overcome installation hurdles
Style: 2005-2010
I selected these because of the price and made note of one of the other reviews explaining the cross bars can only be installed from the rear and to invert the pieces that go into the channel. Yet I still had tremendous difficulty with the installation. After fighting with the side rails for a while trying to open up the channel somehow, I searched for videos of how to remove the side rail covers. Not sure if I'm even using the right terminology but I finally found something helpful so I'm including it here to help others. As another reviewer pointed out, the cross bars pieces can only be inserted into the groove from the rear of the vehicle. But to open the channel, look for the small holes on the inner side of the existing side rails, then use something to press the pin inside. I used an Allen wrench. While depressing the button, pull towards the rear of the vehicle to slide the cover off. If I have time, I'll come back to this review and add a video. I wish I'd taken some pictures of the process as I was doing it but I was beyond frustrated at the time and just trying not to throw the tools across the garage. Once the back cover slides off, the rest is pretty easy. You will have to unscrew the little bracket pieces that go in the channel because they need to be flipped over to go in correctly. They won't slide in the way they come attached to the bars. This is what the other reviewer meant by inverted. Insert the two brackets on each side rail and then you can replace the cover. It should just snap back into place, but I found one side needed a firm shove to get it to snap back in. Now you can slide your brackets into the desired position and screw the cross bars down onto them. Once installed, they look great and feel sturdy. I'm happy with the purchase now that it's finished, but during the installation I was extremely frustrated. As mentioned I will try to find time to make a short little video about this and how they turned out. Hopefully this will help others, because this really is a great value compared to other options. ... show more

  • Good product, useless instructions.
Style: 2005-2010
This product is good. Feels quite sturdy. But worst instructions in the world—they are for a completely different product that installs completely differently. I found a video on YouTube that helped. If your roof bars are like mine (2009 Odyssey) you need to: locate the plastic caps on the rear ends of the bars; push a screwdriver into the slot on the inside and slide the caps off. This gives you access to the grooves. Unscrew the metal plates from your new crossbars and slide two on each side of your old bars into the grooves. The part of the plates that sticks out the most goes down. Position the plates so there are two for front and two for rear. Then screw crossbars on the plates, tighten the Allen screws, and slide the end caps back on.... ... show more

  • Installation Issue
Style: 2005-2010
I received these rails for my Honda Odyessy 2008 and after looking at the instructions, then watching 2 Youtube videos I still had an issue installing, until I realized this. I hope it will help curb someone else's frustration. 1. There is no channel opening to slide the rails in at the front of the vehicle, so don't bother to take the front rail guards off. Both rails can install from the rear. Be sure to put the longer one on first as it goes in the front of the van. 2. Only one side of the rails has adjustment (wiggle room) The other side is stationary. Check this before you loosen any bolts on the rails. 3. The clip that slides into the rails was upside down. Unscrew the clip and flip it over so the channel lines up. This last part was a huge headache until I figured out they were factory installed inverted. Because it was threaded upside down, when you flip it, the screw is difficult to rethread, but with patience, I was able to make it work. I have not used the rails yet, but if there is somthing to note, I will edit this post. ... show more

  • Pay attention to the markings (L) the left side. The other side has no markings
Style: 2018-2023
The instructions are bland and need to offer more details to avoid misplaced parts when laying out to begin installation.

  • They work but DONT follow the instructions……
Style: 2005-2010
I read the instructions and the first thing it tells you to do is to remove the front covers to the rails and unbolt the rail from the car! WTF? That’s crazy! The rails are slotted and have access by removing the rear caps to expose a slot where the tabs will slide right in easily WITHOUT unbolting anything. Wow! Check out the photo for a better detailed look. Other than that and the fact you must be careful assembling it all, it’s all ok. ... show more

  • Good compromise between quality and price.
Style: 2005-2010
For the price, it’s great. It works well and looks nearly factory. The installation instructions were fine, had no problem figuring out what to do. Knocked off one star for overall quality. The complaints about stripping the bolts are a fair complaint - Phillips screws are inappropriate for the torque you need to apply to get these to tighten down. Having said that, if you are careful and deliberate and handy, you can make these work. I did and am super happy for the price I paid. If the main bolts were Allen head or Torx, you’d have less of a problem stripping the screws when tighten them down. I’d buy them again. ... show more
