Most new design are now dry filter instead of oil filter. Our filter do not require oil, it is reusable and washable. You can wash it with soap and water, rinse it until it is all dry up and use it again. We recommend you to check every 5,000 miles to see if it needs to be wash / clean. Silicone is a premium rubber which seals better and lasts longer. The air filter, couplers and tube seals in our intake kits are made from our premium silicone rubber. This means they won't crack, has exceptional tear strength, and can handle temperatures as high as 400F. Also, with a high friction surface and no oily residue, our silicone filters and couplers won’t slide off the tube. MOOSUN air intakes are very easy to install on your car or truck. A typical air intake installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet-set in 90 minutes or less! MOOSUN specifically engineers their intake kits to use existing factory holes and mounting points, making installation simple. The vast majority of MOOSUN cold air induction systems do not require any cutting or drilling. Step 1 - Make sure your engine is cool to the touch. Step 2 - Disconnect your battery cable from the negative terminal. Step 3 - Remove your old air intake. Step 4 - Attach the silicone coupling that came with the air intake kit to the throttle body. Step 5 - Secure the coupling by tightening a hose clamp at the end. Step 6 - Place another hose clamp on the front of the coupling, but don’t tighten it just yet. Step 7 - Slide the intake tube into the silicone coupling, and ensure that your intake pipe is running from the throttle bay away from the engine bay. Step 8 - Tighten the silicone coupling and secure all brackets on the tube. Step 9 - Plug the mass air flow sensor into the new cold air intake system. Step 10 - Reconnect the battery.Enjoy the new power boosts immediately!

Looks great in the engine bay and pretty easy to install, the instructions had a little ambiguity which lead to some confusion on the install, the weather stripping seems quality but I wasn't sure exactly where to put it and the panels that separate the bay from the intake didn't line up perfect. Great air intake. This does fit GM trucks with the clutch driven fan. I put it on my 5.3L. I'm going to pickup a specture or K&N filter to replace this one . It's way cheaper to go with this setup than to buy the high end brand. The filter that came with the kit looks to be pretty good quality but it touches the fender so I hope that dosent cause a problem hopefully buying a new filter will solve that. And I had to trim the rad fan housing slightly so It wont rub. Everything seems to be well made. The clamps are a bit flimsy but tightened up enough. My only complaints is the rubber piece that connects the MAF sencor to the pipe was to wide for my sensor but I tightned it up enough to make it work. For this reason I gave it a 3 star for install. I haven't drove enough to tell the millege but the throatier sound that it adds is worth it for the price. ... show more

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect for 55$ I’ve bought cheap cold air intakes before for my other projects I’ve been a mechanic for about seven years I hve all my saw certs I’ve worked in many shops but like anyone I have a budget and I can say by far for 55$ this is the best quality cold air intake kit I have ever received it was packaged well came in damaged and with everything I need and instructions which alone is more than any of the cheap ones due the fact is a new air filter on the cheap side is 20$ so for 35$ more you get a whole cold air set up with a quite larger than expected air filter which means more air flow which means you can create more power and of good quality that you can wash and reoil with a kn air filter cleaning kit quite easily this is defenetly worth the one u you pay for I honestly believe they could charge a 100$ for this kit I might start buying them and doing i stalk kits on the side for 150$ and make some quick cash the kit is great for the price you pay no complaints ... show more

It works as intended and looks the part as well. Doesn't effect afr on my truck and I can get a little induction sound from it as well. No, it's no monster on my stock 5.3 but it gives a good vibe and the price was plenty fair.

The good is that it does work and it's cheap. The fitment of the support bracket underneath could have been better and seems very weak. And the connection of the rubber sleeve that goes onto the mass air flow sensor was way too big. You can only tighten down rubber so much. I was afraid that the mass air flow sensor would shake out of the rubber sleeve. I had to remedy this by wrapping a 1 1/2" strip of rubber roofing around the sensor 2-3 times so it would fit much better. The backside rubber strip was sprayed with a strong adhesive to keep it in place. Which led me to replace all the 4" hose clamps. They are terrible and when you tighten them down the tightening screw goes inside the backing plate bending and rounding the hose clamp and not allowing you to ever be able to tighten it to the proper pressure for strength and seal to hold everything in place. I replaced all the 4" clamps with stainless clamps (cost $8-$10) so I wouldn't be worried about pieces coming undone on the road causing wrong reading with the sensor or worse getting bad debris being sucked into my intake. A few small things would make this a very good kit. Luckily if you are handy in the garage this kit should work for you fine. And any video comparisons show no significant difference between a $60 kit like this one compared to a $250-$300 kit by top name brands. ... show more
