Where I work we have coyotes, eagles (Bald) and retail hawks around pretty often, so wanted to be able to do a little viewing at times. This monocular was in the ball park price wise but was a little concerned about the low power (8x42 vs a 10x50). I'm going to be doing hand held primarily so thought I would get a stable image with the 8 power. Glad I did. It is stable (not too shaky) and the glass is clear. One of my priorities was to get glass covers for the front & back. The back glass (smallest) is not held on with a strap, so could be lost, but the front (larger) glass cover is tethered to the monocular. Eye peace works for me as I wear glasses but my friends at work don't so they adjust the eye piece out as needed. Case is a little tight, but figure it will stretch out in time. Fairly compact, good monocular for the price. Would recommend to a friend. In fact, believe some of my friends at work are interested in picking one up for their work bags. Gave it 4 stars as the monocular covers are not both tethered and the bag is a little tight. a belt loop on the bag would be a good improvement for hiking. ... show more

For beings a small and compact it’s a pretty clear piece of glass, I use it on horse back when gathering cattle to glass distant ridges to save my horse from riding over there because of a dark shadow and it gets the job done really like how the focus is set up and easily used with gloves on
