I got these for my 3 yr. old grandson when I saw him able to use my adult ones. The optics are very good and lenses are set back in eyepieces to minimize fingerprints. Easily adjust to little childrens eyes. The little compass is beyond 3 yr. old grasp. He was able to use them and really liked them.

I bough it as a gift/surprise I'm Very disappointed, their only a cheap toy, no practical use unless used as a prop for a costume. The love of my life, my gift from God, my 5 year old grand-baby tried not to show her disappointment, and it broke my heart to see it. I got her 10 yr.old brother a different brand of binoculars that cost only a few dollars more. I thought these ones would be more age appropriate. However they were useless out of the box, lesson learned. I thank God the bird watching book I ordered was very good and the kids loved it. However they only had one copy we all share. I did get to witness brother sharing his binoculars with little sister very touching. I will need to order real binoculars for her. However sharing one book has not been a problem. ... show more
