Love these binoculars. Comparatively expensive, but they are great! I am a -6 correction and I can focus these without glasses. They are heavy. I use them mostly with a tripod, monopod, or bracing myself against something stable like a steering wheel....when stopped of course. The difference between 10x and 15x is surprising. ... show more

Super clear. Strap is a bit janky for 1K binos,...I will probably switch to an aftermarket one. Have a couple Lupold rifle scopes and these appear to be just as good!

Binoculars seem OK and they are definitely the make/model I want. But there are indications that someone else had used and returned them, and then they were reshipped to me as being new. Rip in box, debris on all lenses even though item arrived with lens caps on, light scuffing on rubber pieces attached to lenses. When I pay $1,000 for an item, I expect it to arrive brand new in the box. Especially from a company like Leupold. Still considering returning them. ... show more

After comparing the BX-5 Santiam HD 8X42 with the BX-5 Santiam HD 10X42, I decided to go with the latter because of its higher magnification and superior optical crispness overall. Also, by comparison, the diopler wheel on the 8X42 was too stiff; it was almost impossible to adjust. I noticed too, the accompanying snap fittings on the neck strap on both models—that others have also complained about—may be prone to fail, so one should be sure to purchase the more robust and comfortable shoulder harness accessory Leupold sells. As for the carrying case, it is what it is, maybe a slight bit too small but hopefully functional in the field. ... show more
