This has been a lot of fun to use. I no longer hunt, but still love wildlife viewing. Both my wife and I are avid birdwatchers. Although still quite new, we have had it out on a ten day camping trip and used it quite a bit. We were able to see some raptors in the trees at nite, and were surprised to see how much fields and clearings came alive at night with rodents. I won’t suggest that you can ID a bird from what you see, as the resolution is to low for that, but it does allow you to find them and then bring binoculars or spotting scope to bear on them. I would really love a chance to try out a higher resolution unit to see what I’m missing, but this is a great value in my book. Wasn’t familiar with heat sensor equipment but reading the reviews put me at ease when making this purchase. The clarity is pretty good. Just when using you need to be with very little or no light for best results. After getting used to the setting and focus while using I was very pleased with the performance and was able to find some areas around my house with heat loss. The vision distance is not as far as they say. The product is bulky. In an open field, it’s ok. Practically useless in the woods. Wish I would have not missed the return date.
