The description said holds up to 450 pounds and they were right. I’m a little under 430 pounds and a very large lady. I need this to help me get around the house and go to doctors appointments. It has definitely held my weight. I would purchase a seat pad with it as it’s not very comfortable on the legs to sit in for long periods of time like waiting for the doctor. Be warned it’s a larger wheelchair so may not fit through the doors in your home without folding it it through. Breaks are very reliable and sturdy. It came fully assembled in the box. All I had to do was take the protective plastic off the front wheels and a few places on the wheelchair and then add the footrests to it. It came with a tool and an information sheet. Can be a bit heavy to lift and load if your older but I had no issues doing so. Fit easily in my small size suv trunk area when folded up. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with bariatric issues who needs help getting around from time to time or daily. Seat was wider than I expected and was glad to have the extra room. Would definitely purchase again if I ever needed another wheelchair. It also came sooner than it was supposed to so that’s a huge plus in my book! Durable, sturdy, holds up like it should, comes fully assembled out of the box, not hard to open or close, fits in a small size suv with no issues, not hard to push for yourself or with someone pushing you in it.

I was SO stressed because I have lymphedema in my stomach and leg and it is very hard to walk. I wanted to go to my daughter's college graduation and it was a long walk to get out of the car, get into the stadium and then to a seat that likely would have been too small. We decided it would be best for me to go in a wheelchair. We bought this because it cost almost as much to rent one and at least I would have it for the next time. I have never found wheel chairs comfortable and this one was -- VERY. I sat in it for almost 3 hours. Also, it held up and is very sturdy. Because it is wider you do have to pay attention to door sizes but we had no issues with this personally. It is also pretty darn light considering. It made a potentially stressful situation a piece of cake and a memorable, enjoyable time. I am so grateful! Highly recommend.

Only used 3 times on outings with my mom and the arm rest broke. The chair itself is very heavy to lift in and out of a vehicle compared to Drive brand wheelchairs. The size is great for bariatric patients but quality is very low. It may look like a wheel chair but it’s not able to hold up to regular use. Too expensive for this to happen with 3 times out with the chair. Regret buying it and is a waste.

Just arrived, perhaps too early to critique but feels amazing. Upgrade from the hand me down dinosaur battletank of a wheel chair I was using from the last 2 or 3 years. New chair feels feather light, and so manueverable. Came fully assembled except for the leg rests that I don't plan to bother attaching. Sits higher, made of lighter weight materials. Old chair had alot of old school metal parts making it weigh a ton. I was reluctant to take it anywhere. The castor wheel bearings were shot and made it a battle to turn and move. Had to bite the bullet and buy a new chair. No donated Xtra wide loaners rated for 400lbs plus I could find. I expect to be my LAST chair I hope.

The Monicare Wide Foldable Bariatric Wheelchair has been a significant improvement in my daily life. As someone who requires a heavy-duty wheelchair, the 500lb weight capacity provides the stability and peace of mind I need. The 24-inch seat is generously sized, offering excellent comfort and support throughout the day. The wheelchair is also surprisingly easy to maneuver, making navigating tight spaces much less of a struggle. I especially appreciate the folding design. The only reason I'm not giving this wheelchair a full 5 stars is the issue with pant legs occasionally getting caught in the front wheels. It's a minor annoyance, but it's something to be aware of and can be a bit frustrating at times. It requires a little extra attention to ensure my clothing stays clear. Despite this one drawback, the Monicare Bariatric Wheelchair is a well-built, sturdy, and comfortable option for those needing a heavy-duty solution. The benefits far outweigh the minor pant leg issue. I would definitely recommend this wheelchair to anyone looking for a reliable and portable bariatric wheelchair. It’s not to horribly heavy so my sweet old hubby can lift it in and out of the car and it’s easy to get up and down from. Also very comfortable for me and I am a very large woman after many years of inactivity due to a nerve disease and chronic severe pain (and eating badly I admit). It didn’t roll smoothly at first but after reading the paperwork that came with it we oiled the wheels now it rolls like a dream. I would recommend this to any obese person with mobility issues. I made my first trip in three years since I got this. Only downside is that it won’t fit through most interior doors because of the double wheels.

Although, I have lost over 100Lbs - my rump has not gone down in size. So fitting into a chair with a normal width is very difficult and extremely painful. This chair solves that problem; however, it will not fit thru most (standard) doorways of 27”-30”. I knew this when I bought it, but since I got it for when I’m out - most places have wide enough or double doors - so I’m happy. The chair is solid, it does not feel like it will give away out from under me, even when I am really relying on it to stand up. It’s a pain being disabled in this world but at least I can sit without ending up with monster bruises on my hips.
