I ordered it for a customer who didnt want a stainless steel one, the home center was out of white ones. She was very happy with it. No bath bars are hard to install if you know what you are doing. This is not a DIY friendly job if you dont know anything about drilling into tile and the bar only comes with wood screws, so you will have to purchase fasteners appropriate to your surface if its not going directly into wood. ... show more

An absolute must for ANY bathroom, even if there is not a disabled person present. This might save your head some day (from a fall). The primary thing is to make sure this is mounted on a 2x4. 16 inches or 24 inches are the usual separations. If space does not allow, Moen sells an adapter to mount on tile/wall board. Not as strong, but still works OK. NOTE: drilling holes in tile is very difficult. It requires special diamond bits, running water and lots of patience. It is usually better to hire a professional. After lots of study and patience, this DIY guy was able to install quite a few of these on tile. Buy multiple bits, you will need them. ... show more

The installation would be much easier with a template with the needed distance between holes printed on poster board or plastic and sent with the bar. The template could be taped up. Figuring out how to trace the circles and find the perfect centers while holding up a metal bar against the slippery tile walls of a shower felt like a recipe for drilling in the wrong place. Also, just indicating the exact distance needed between the center of each hole would help. It is not to the exact inch, it is about 1/8" over. The bar itself is fine, the installation instructions are not as good as they can be for installing on hollow walls. ... show more
