This bath stool's strongest point is that it does not have any drilled holes on the legs, as the former one did. The holes will be a source where water can enter inside the legs and also provide a surface where water will sit and cause mold/algae (please consider this factor when comparing different models). Even though this would not fit across the tub because of the design of the tub, I have it lengthwise in the tub. I can sit on it with ease and comfort. My legs go over the end and I don't have to straddle the bench. It's sturdy and I feel safe. I liked it so much and told my friend whose husband has neuropathy about it. We got this for my MIL who recently had a stroke and was having trouble showering. It arrived quickly, and was very easy to set up for her. It seems sturdy, and we haven't had any issues using it so far. It is also small and light enough to be put out of the way when it is not being used.

This is perfect for what we needed. If I need to ever purchase one again, I will get an adjustable height one. This is rather short. If getting up and down is an issue for the person needing the stool, a taller one might be better suited. The person using this was less than 5 feet so the height was not an issue. For many others it would be. It is very easy to assemble with just 5 screws. Once assembled, it is very sturdy.     • Weak materials, use with extreme caution...
Bought this for my wife to use while she was recovering from a knee injury. During a shower, the legs bent and nearly injured my wife more. Chair was assembled correctly and used carefully. Really hate that she had to risk further injury when I wasn't around to assist her getting out from the shower. I would advice on spending a few dollars more for the Ez2care chair for peace of mind. ... show more

I ordered this chair to be delivered ahead of my arrival at my daughter's apartment. We had trouble putting it together because a screw driver was needed. The screws should be wing nuts or something that can be tightened with your hand! Very sturdy and fit in her tub width-wise.

After suffering a serious illness I had to break down and purchase a shower seat because I just couldn't get through a shower without a fall that could be potentially serious. My Moen Home Care Shower Seat arrived quickly, and it snapped together in about three minutes. It is sturdy, strong, and comfortable to sit on. The holes in the seat make it easy to keep the seat clean and well-drained, and the seat is lightweight and has carry handles on the sides which make it easy to move around. If your shower is a step in shower without a real bathtub, this item may not fit in your shower and you might want to consider a smaller version.
