I like the lamp overall. The only complaint is that the screws for the shade are so short, they were hard to get in. Also the holes for the shade didn’t line up easily.

Good quality easy to assemble and doesn't fall apart when you lift it. I like the switch placement on the pole rather than in the wire. Slight improvement for me would be a little smaller shade for better focus on reading material.

    • Threading problem
The center connection did not fit properly. The internal threading was insufficient. I screwed it together as far as it would go and was left with a one-eighth inch gap at the middle junction and a very slight tilt in the whole pole. Ah, well. I live in New Mexico and life in general has a slight tilt. One just has to live with it. Otherwise, this lamp sheds a good light for reading and serves its primary purpose. ... show more

I love to read. I read in my easy chair or on the sofa. Sometimes I read while sitting on the loveseat in my living room or the comfy chair and ottoman in the bedroom. I read in bed. And, being a human being I require light to read. To have a lamp adequate enough to read in all those places would be clumsy and unattractive (at least my wife says so, and she [claims] to know about such things) SO WHAT TO DO? ---------------The Answer is...... ___________________BUY THIS LAMP!!! It's lightweight so moving it to the location I need at the moment is simple. My easy chair sits in the center area with no overhead lighting or end table to put a table lamp on. SOLUTION : Grab this lamp, put next to chair and after plugging it in, turn it on. The flexibility of the gooseneck allows me to adjust the directionality of the light to EXACTLY where I want it. If I shift in my chair or want to move to the sofa or loveseat, ditto. Finally, and quite important to me is that this lamp uses a regular lightbulb. Whatever strength you please. 40 Watt - 60 Watt - 75 Watt - 100 Watt Soft White or Whatever - If you're wondering why this is important to me - the answer is that these new bulbs, you know the squiggly ones that cost like $12.95 , offer a different type of brightness that make my eyes tear after a short time. My rating is Terrific - 11 stars out of 10 One last thing: If this were priced substantially higher than the current $39.95, I'd be a buyer (but don't tell that to the seller, that's just between you and me) :-) ... show more

This lamp is only 4 1/2 feet tall fully extended (ad stated less than 4 1/2 feet); a little short for many applications. I wanted to use it behind a chair for reading and found it to be too short. Still I like the lamp and will use it elsewhere.

My mom had one of these floor lamps which was handed down to me. I love it so much, I bought another identical (white) one. In a guest room where there are twin beds on each side of a door opening (in other words, no night- stand space), I put one floor lamp next to each bed.
