Love this! Directions were not clear in a couple areas… especially the K3 parts. Installed as the sketch showed, but when attaching the roof panels, they did not lineup with the holes and I had to reverse the brackets. Not a big deal but extended the time for the build. Instructions/sketch for the sides of the frame needs to be improved. FWIW the flat bare wood side goes on top. The side with the metal bracket flange goes on the bottom. That allows for the metal roof frame to sit flat on the wood side frame. Directions for the roof panels are not very clear either. The first two rows line up in either direction but when you get to the third row, they can only be installed one way. Only after the entire roof was installed did I realize the overlap on the first two rows is shorter than the overlap on the remaining rows. Ugh. Good thing no one will ever know this except me. This will all make sense as you build it, but just a couple tips. Some of the pieces were bent, but were easily hammered out or bent into place with pliers. Just make sure you put a cloth around the metal before you bend it to avoid scratching it. Overall, directions were better than most I’ve seen. I’m a 62-year-old female and put this together by myself over a weekend. Over 9000 steps taken, installing, up and down ladders, back-and-forth to the garage. Great workout. Good value for the money. I would buy this again. Similar unit twice as much at Home Depot.

I absolutely love this gazebo! My old one was made of fabric. So I had to take it down whenever it rained or got windy. If I forgot to pack it up puddle of water would collect on the fabric and algae or moss would start growing on it, which looked really gross . My old outdoor table was made of waterproof wood too. But after years of sun exposure and weathering, the wood became stained and worn. Now I don’t need to worry about it anymore! Highly recommend this gazebo. This is easy to set up. Also this is not too heavy. I love it so much!

I bought this 6x8 cedar grill gazebo for our backyard patio and finally got around to setting it up last weekend. The instruction manual is clear. Each column has a different function, and I accidentally mixed them up at first—had to take them out and rearrange, which cost me some time. The whole thing took two full afternoons to install, so definitely not a quick setup, but it looks great now that it's done. I’m not sure if the cedar wood can be painted, but I might try sealing it just to help it last longer since we plan to use it a lot. The shelves and built-in paper towel holder are super handy, and the roof feels solid. The USB and USB-C ports are a nice touch—we can charge our phones right while grilling.

Since we moved to our new home, we have always wanted a covered patio, sunroom or gazebo. We finally were able to do that this year. We decided to go with the Modern Shade 12 x 12 gazebo because of its cost and unique roof design with cedar wood elements. We actually had to extend our concrete patio two feet to accommodate the new gazebo. When we finally got the required building permits and approval from HOA it was time to place the order. Three days after our purchase the gazebo arrived and was dropped off on our driveway. The unit came in 6 large boxes. I think that the most important aspect of this project was getting an accurate inventory of all the pieces and components involved in the process. The hardware is clearly identified on cardboard laminated sheets. All components were marked and pre drilled accurately. Make sure you are squared away with location. Square opposite corners at 90 degrees. The installation instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The second important aspect was to follow the step by step process outlined in the instruction manual. I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by the sheer number of pieces with all the hardware. I would suggest using a couple kitchen utensil bins to separate hardware. Keep nuts, bolts screws in packaging in the bins. I recommend that you have some help with the assembly. At least one other person. Take your time and have fun. We began construction two weeks ago. The components were laid out for each step and assembled. The parts were pre drilled and everything went together well. Another very important consideration is not to tighten any screws completely until all nuts, bolts and screws have been started. We had a couple of issues with the parts either missing or defective. The first problem was the R3 bracket did not have the “river nuts”. I emailed the manufacturer and the new brackets were shipped and received within 5 days. The second issue we had were the bolts that hold the roof sheets down wouldn’t tighten due to the “river nuts” spinning inside the support bracket. I was informed that it could take weeks to get the replacement supports. I didn’t want to wait that long. I inquired about warranty being voided and was told that I would not void the warranty so it was decided to drill through the support bracket and attached a locking nut. The only thing visible on the interior support beam are 6 locking nuts. I think the manufacturer should have a better option for mounting there “river nuts” The rest of the installation went very smoothly. If we didn’t have any issues we would have completed the job in one weekend. We are very excited to have this extra covered space for back yard entertaining. The gazebo looks great and adds value to our outdoor space. I would recommend this gazebo because it’s practical, inexpensive and aesthetically appealing. I’m happy to have it done in time for spring and summer entertaining. My goal is to get some new furniture and drapes to make it a comfortable outdoor retreat. Gazebo looks absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. It took roughly 10 hours to put together by myself and only had a couple of difficult screw situations. I’d definitely recommend not tightening the bolts for the roofing bars until all pieces are connected as it’ll make it easier to align all of the holes. Another item to highlight is how underrated the packaging was. I was a bit nervous ordering a gazebo through Amazon, but all items were securely packaged with wooden planks around the internal perimeter of the boxes. If any items get damaged during delivery, it would be a fluke. Seller was also very helpful sending all tracking numbers and was available for questions if needed.
