It’s solid wood, the screws and holes match. There is also a video if you need extra help. I’m almost 80 and it took me 10 minutes per chair. Plus (thank you seller), it was shipped overseas. A lot of sellers don’t do that. I simply love the quality of the chairs. It made to last. I can see the seller had pride. EACH piece was enclosed in a styrofoam sheet.
