Description
Introducing the IC PVS-14 J Arm with dovetail or bayonet interface. Takes the place of the MIL-SPEC J arm that is easily broken or not easily adjustable. With a MIL-SPEC J Arm operators only have an option of the bayonet interface, limiting helmet mount choices. Available in both bayonet and dovetail, this friction set mount allows for fast, easy, travel from left to right eye, and back again. Dovetail interface works with: Norotos Lo-Sto Dovetail, Norotos AKA II, Norotos INVG/Hyper INVG, Norotos TATM, and Wilcox L4 G24, Bayonet interface works with: Original Norotos USGI RHINO, Norotos RHNO II, Lo-Sto bayonet, and Wilcox G11. Please specify in your order if your mount is the G11.

4/5 stars! I never write amazon reviews, but this thing is great and I have to spread the word! Got the bayonet version for my wilcox g11 and I love it. Took it out for the first time tonight and it was a huge step up from typical dinky j arms. Would highly recommend if you don't want to dive into the prices and wait times of dovetail just yet and you're just starting off with night vision. -PROS- -Doesn't move (In a good way, stays where you want it to) -Able to get it in the perfect spot to line up with my eye. I've always had issues with j arms not lining up correctly -Sturdy build -Decent price (For night vision equipment) -No "bayonet wobble" -CONS- -Heavy (that comes with the territory of bayonet unfortunately, counterweight definitely helps) -Sticks out super far when stowed (Again another bayonet issue, if you aren't jumping out of helicopters or don't have a weak spine it probably won't effect you too much) -The lever that releases the arm from the mount is too short and the lever doesn't release the arm so I have to dig in there with my finger -No matching hump to pvs-14 valley (This is what lost the 5 stars. Would've given 5 if it was present. There is a slight movement on the body when screwed in because of this issue unfortunately. Tight lockups are important!) Overall I really like this j arm. Smart and effective alternative to dropping $700-$800 on a wilcox g24 plus a brand new articulating arm (which are inherently better, but are not cheap or always readily available) on top of all the other crap I've bought for night vision. I want to enjoy this hobby with well made parts at affordable prices. This arm bridges the gap for me by not being cutting edge tech, but being an "entry" level piece of equipment that is very effective and steps up the base level of night vision without costing an arm and a leg (around $500 total for a g11 and this arm). Extremely impressed with this dove tail j-arm. Love how it sits tight against my pvs-14. A much needed upgrade to my new gen 3 white phosphorous unit. I was a little worried about the hardware connection from from the arm to the dove tail mount being “loose” or swinging down as this peticular arm requires no loosing of a bolt to switch from your left to right eye. After a straight hour of moving it from left to right, I found it to be stiff as if it came right out of the box. Odds are majority of people will not be switching from your non-dominant to dominate eye or vice versa often at all so loosing should not be a issue. As for price … it’s worth it. If your able to pay for a 2,000 to 3,000 dollar PVS-14 this is should be a no brainer. If your planning on just using your 14 for some flat range fun or some hiking a standard GI issue mount/jarm will work. But any thing more than that like hunting or the next step of flat range fun, protect your expensive gear and don’t go “cheap”.

This product is a radical improvement over the bayonet-style j-arm that comes with most PVS-14 units. After constantly adjusting my mount on my first hunting trip and never seeming to find the perfect position, I decided to make the jump to a dovetail solution and this mount is great value for money. Very sturdy yet easily adjustable. Locks into the Gexmil L4G24 clone absolutely perfectly with substantially less movement than the bayonet Notoros clone I was previously using (and less than a genuine Notoros as well). Also, I found that the bayonet release was way too easy to accidentally hit; the dovetail mounts are much more secure. All in all, this has been a great solution so far.

Do you want to spend the money? No. Will You be happy with it when you do? Yes. Very sturdy. Very smooth. Easy to switch between eyes. Doesn't rattle. Virtually no play at all. In a G24 (or the knock offs) it worked great. No auto-off wiring, so it won't switch off when you flip up, but just don't be a clown and appreciate the fact that it won't snap off like a plastic or composite j-arm.

Very tight fit, fairly sturdy, and a nice low profile. It is difficult to adjust tension while wearing gloves or with wet hands, but if you set up your gear properly this shouldn’t be an issue. The only thing I would change is the pivoting mechanism, as it is difficult to adjust, and takes a lot of torque in order to keep it steady, though is doable.

This mount is pricey, but that being said, it is well worth it. The build quality is phenomenal and the finish is beautiful. It locked onto my pvs 14 more solidly than any other mount arm. The dovetail locked in smoothly to my Wilcox mount and the whole assembly is extremely satisfying. When you spend a couple thousand dollars on an optic, do not cut corners with the mount. Great product, highly recommended.
