I can have it set up amd staked down in about 10 minutes with a small amount of sweating. It took me a 2 hours and a youtube video to figure it out the first time . The frame is outside of the tent so I started off backwards. After 5 uses for a face painting tent, its showing some wear. That could be because get the fabric twisted around the legs. I was comfortable standing up in it . I bought the extra canopy side to it and it provides great shade . Its fast to take down. Lightweigt. A great carrying bag.

Pros: Compact bag for travel (yes!!) Bag can be used multiple times (enought rom) unlike some bags that are made too small and hard to reuse Has optional add ons such as fabric flaps to make side walls to block the sun and/or privacy Pretty sturdy Somewhat easy to pop up, it was a little confusing the first time. I recommend trying it out at home before you try to set it up at the beach etc. It took an extra ten minute to figure out how the strings worked and how to get it to expand etc. Negatives: They should have provided some small sand weight bags (I had to buy that separately) for high winds Wish the anchors were metal rather than plastic for durability. There are a lot of straps holding the walls together at that bottom, I wasnt expecting to see straps all over the bottom of tent Recommendation: Great for some shade for a few individuals, would buy this again!

I bought one of those “Sport-Brellas” under recommendation from Wirecutter before I fully realized that that website had gone down the crapper and turned into a snobby, self-justifying cesspool of New York Elitists (who happen to be poor?). ANWAY. Don’t get one of those. Or, if you already have one, get rid of it. This is better. I bought an extra door panel for it so on my river days, I don’t have to decide between sun protection or wind protection (a la sportbrellas), and on LONG river days, I can just set up once and be done save for re-placing the door(s). See with the sportbrella, it’s…. An umbrella. So if the wind is in front but the sun is behind, you have a decision to make. Do you want to have some shade but get hit in the face by the wind and possibly — more than likely, really — chase your umbrella down the sandbar? Or, do you want to block the wind and commit to being lobster-red in due time? And if you DO decide on sun protection, even if you’re lucky and the sun and wind are coming the same direction when you arrive, eventually the sun moves — it’s known to do this — and you’ll have to unstake your crappy sportbrella and reset it to offer protection again. Then you upgrade to THIS! And, just like that, NO MORE to the stupid stuff! It unfolds quick, allows you to stake in the feet before you set it up into any wind (unlike… you know), and with a door or two, you don’t have to decide between wind OR sun protection. What’s more, since the door panels can be quickly detached and moved to different openings, once you set up the canopy proper, as the day goes on, you can just move a door panel to adjust your protections without redoing the entirety of the unit (sportbrella, I’m looking at you). Sets up with one person in under a minute, seriously. I wish I had just seen this thing a couple years ago, it’s even better than what I was envisioning I needed.

This tent is very heavy to carry and it takes 20 minutes to setup and take down. The stakes that come with it are useless. Need to buy sand bags to keep it stable. Also sand will attach to it very easily and won't come off. Despite all the setup and take down hassles, it does provide decent sun protection. Also I like that it has the option for you to purchase extra sheets to cover up more sides. But for the price and the effort it requires, I would rather stick with the beach umbrella which only costed me $20 at Costco.

this seems like it would be ideal for a solo set up but unless your have a lot of upper body strength and the ability to pull with one hand and push with the other over your head it does not work for a 1 person set up. Other wise it seems like a nice unit.

Bough this because I was sick of hauling my eazy-up to sport events for my kids. This one I can easily Carry in my hand without pulling a wagon and set it up quick and fast all by myself. The only down side is that set up on cement on a windy day, it couple fly away if you don’t have 4 heavy items (ice chest,backpacks,ect) at each corner to hold it down….but it’s doable if you do.

I use this on my deck to partially shade my plants. It was hard to set up the first time by myself but after that it was easy. I suggest getting help the first time. Since it’s on a deck I used some anchors (that do not come with it).
