Description

Mishimoto has developed a performance air intake engineered specifically for the 2015+ Subaru WRX. The intake features numerous innovative components, including a wire-reinforced lower induction hose that will not collapse under suction and boost. Dyno testing showed maximum gains of up to 33 whp and 30 wtq and peak gains of up to 28 whp and 21 wtq while maintaining safe AFRs on the stock tune. This intake has a unique and aggressive tone under acceleration and boost, and the free-flowing design amplifies turbocharger spool and BPV sounds. The stock intake duct is utilized to provide cool airflow to the high-flow Mishimoto oiled air filter, which features increased filtration surface area compared to the stock paper filter. This filter can be cleaned and reused, providing a lifetime of service. The intake is optionally available with an enclosed airbox for protection against engine bay heat-soak, and it provides a stock-like engine bay appearance as well. This unit is a complete bolt-on that functions perfectly with the stock tune and can be installed in one hour using common hand tools. Made in the USA and available with either polished or Wrinkle Black aluminum intake piping, this kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty, ensuring superior product quality and craftsmanship.

I have a 2016 base model 6speed Wrx.. I got this installed by all pro subie in Atlanta ga.. Sounds great good hp and tq gains on the stock tune.. I run 93 octane gas which is common in Georgia and zero issues.. It really wakes up the Bov sound And does it sounding great.. There are no fitment issues .. I chose the intake with the silver piping because I wanted to be different rather than the typical red or black. I'm now a big fan of mishimoto products I have no regrets and Amazon is a official seller of mishimoto so they backup their lifetime warranty. I emailed mishimoto directly before I purchased.. Mishimoto makes all kinds of goodies for the 2015/2016 wrx check it out.. Make sure you have 93 fuel readily available if you run this intake on the stock tune... In Georgia it's no issue but do your research... Great product absolutely happy ... show more

Great intake, Everything came well packaged and organized. I did the install on my driveway all from under the hood (from the top) even though the instructions indicate to lift the car and do the piping from the bottom it is totally doable from the top. Took about 40min total to install. As far as sound is concerned, it's silent until you get on it, then you get a nice whooosh! Just make sure you get a tune before driving the car with any intake as it is risky and it can throw your fuel trims off and cause damage to your engine. I opted for a Bren Stage 2 E-Tune as I had also installed a turbo back exhaust at the same time and he had no issues tuning to this intake. It's an easy and stable intake to tune for. ... show more

    • Installed new intake, finally heard the blow off valve
This intake is amazing. I'd like to rate it 4 stars because of the decrease in MPG but it has nothing to do with the actual system so I can't knock the intake for that. The psychological aspect of the MPG decrease comes from actually just hearing the air intake pulling in air (acceptably loud) and what seems like what is now a functional/audible blow off valve and wanting to keep hearing those sounds. Along with all of this new racket that sounds like it's being diverted into the passenger AC vents, the turbo seems to spool up slightly quicker (nicer pulls) which requires you to shift a little sooner in order to keep the MPG that you had before. All other things aside, this thing is amazing in various aspects and I'm hoping to get this tuned in with the upcoming exhaust package. ... show more

First the Bad, simply it was missing a clamp and an Allen head screw for the air box (hopefully mishimoto will send me these parts). The Good, clean and easy install process. Easy install. Only thing I wish it came with is a bottom for the box. I have no fender wall so water and dirt can easily make it to the filter. I had to rig up something to keep dirt and water out.

Mishimoto performance air intake arrived on time, exactly as described, in excellent new condition and packed very well. Air intake is of high quality and was easy to install. Excellent fit and looks. I have not had the system long enough to judge whether actual engine performance increases.
