Description

Mishimoto has developed a performance air intake engineered specifically for the 2012+ BMW F30 w/ N20/N26 engines! This Performance Air Intake is safe to use with the stock tune as it will not hurt air/fuel ratios under load. This intake has a unique and aggressive tone under acceleration and boost, and the free-flowing design amplifies turbocharger spool and BPV sounds. The stock intake duct is utilized to provide cool airflow to the Mishimoto High-Flow Oiled Air Filter, which features increased filtration surface area compared to the stock paper filter. This filter can be cleaned and reused, providing a lifetime of service. The intake includes an enclosed airbox that collects all of the cold outside air from the front of the engine. The airbox is made from 5052 aluminum with a black powder-coated finish to reduce weight compared to a steel intake box, and to prevent against any corrosion. The airbox also protects against engine bay heat-soak, and it provides a unique engine bay appearance. This unit is a complete bolt-on that functions perfectly with the stock tune. This kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty, ensuring superior product quality and craftsmanship.

Great Cold Air Intake for my BMW 228i M Sport

This CAI is incredible, it really changed the attitude, sound and performance of my 2014 BMW 228I M Sport, I also installed a catback exhaust system and my bmw sounds angry and it's fast as hell for a twin turbo 4 cylinder, little rocket ship. I highly recommend this CAI for any 228i owners.

Poor quality. The breather line spigot broke while I opened the packaging. Poor fitment. The given supports don't line up well and even the aluminum tube isn't a good fit. Didn't come with instructions. It did have some advertising for other products and an air freshener. The air freshener had the name of the company on it so I threw it in the garbage. Sound: spool is crazy. If you wanna sound like a 90's JDM car, this is the intake box to get! Reminds me of old S-Chassis in a good way. Incredible intake resonance with turbo blow off. Gentleman spec blow off noises at low throttle and breaks necks half throttle or more (loud), it's almost silent in eco pro, but sport and sport+ is what you want to be in to hear it. Certainly not for the faint of heart or grandpa spec. (Extra blow off noises with slight lift off throttle every shift) Great construction and quality. Opted for the crinkle black. Easy to install, took some time to align everything correctly but it does fit. Some people said it doesn't fit, it does, you just have to install piece by piece in the correct orientation. Install time is less than half an hour, but give yourself more time to align properly. Price is expensive, but the construction and noise is worth it. HP gains stock? Doubt it, but makes me feel faster. Get yourself a tune to produce more power. ... show more
