I'm pleasantly surprised by the lack of issues with this chair. As a first time buyer of refurbished items, I was skeptical due to mentions of knicks and squeaks for refurbished chairs across the internet. But this chair feels brand new, and its amazing. First off, its really easy to assemble. It's just three pieces: the base with wheels already attached, the seat, and a metal rod connecting the two. No tools necessary. Took me like an actual minute. Secondly, as I sit in this chair right now there are no visible knicks or scratches. I'm sure this varies from chair to chair but I haven't noticed anything alarming from a quality perspective due to it being refurbished. There are no squeaks either, which is another common issue I read online. Lastly, the chair is easy to use and incredibly comfortable. I've never owned an expensive office chair, so I'm not exactly an expert, but I'm really enjoying it personally. The materials feel premium, durable, and comfortable. I've also never owned a chair that has as many adjustable options as this one, but it's nice to have and I believe will come in handy in the long term as I get older or whatnot. ... show more

    • Lumbar Support - Superb, just like I remember when I used the Mirra at a former job on Wall Street!
For five years I had the pleasure of going to an office that exclusively used Herman Miller Mirra chairs and I was blown away when I first sat in one at my desk! The customization, features, and quality be beat! These all combine to make working a wonderful experience when sitting down almost all day. The biggest and most important feature to me is the back support, more specifically the Lumbar spine support. This excels at that, so if you have had back surgery, suffer from back pain occasionally or a lot, or just want to prevent any back issues if possible, this chair is very kind to your back! You have to experience the lumbar support for yourself to really understand how good it is in providing you with such an ergonomic experience. I highly recommend Herman Miller based off of my experience with working in the office with one and now owning the Mirra for my home office that I work remotely. I'm so pleased. This is an "open box" or "refurbished", but mine works just fine. I just received it on Saturday, April 3, and today, Monday, April 5 is my first "full" day of using it and I'll report back if anything changes with the quality of the chair, but everything works just fine! The seller I bought it from was terrific as shipping time was just a couple of days! Did not expect such quick shipment, but very happy about that too. Overall, I think this is a great deal for a chair that Herman Miller doesn't produce any longer, as they replaced the Mirra with the Mirra 2 and now market and produce the Mirra 2, so the only way to get your hands on the original Mirra, is through the "used", open box, or refurbished markets. I think I made a great choice in choosing my vendor and will update if anything occurs that is concerning, but so far I cannot ask for a better chair!! ... show more

Well, honestly, I will give 2-3 stars for the chair itself at this price. But the seller was trying to fool us that this is just an "open box" chair. While after I received it, I couldn't help but notice it's a well-used second-hand chair. All of the adjustable nodes have rusty or wear; Same as basically all of the screws; Not to mention the dirty seating cushion. I guess It's at least used for 2 years or more. By the way, some other comments mentioned the wet issue also happened. The chair is so damp when it arrives, with a strange smell. I don't know how this happened, maybe the seller rinsed it before selling it. ... show more

I purchased the Mirra chair for my significant other for Christmas. It was definitely worth the price. Purchasing an open box item can always be worrying but the quality and integrity of the chair was better than I imagined. Assembly was easy and the customer service at CHAIRORAMA was phenomenal.     • Pretty good, after minor modifications.
Out of the box, this chair does provide good support, but because I have protruding L3 and L4 discs the hard plastic back is painful at the point of contact. My solution? Using Hypafix tape, I attached a gel seat cushion to the back, thusly providing some padding (decoupling) to the back panel. The end result is that it has a padded feel while still providing necessary j;umbar support. Of course, I would like it to feel like a Lazy Boy, but there wouldn't be as much lumbar support. Would I buy it again? Given the fact that I had to do this "modification,I am not sure. Was it worth the 549 dollars with the installed options? After I mounted the gel cushion? Yes.     • Expensive but worth it, particularly for those with back pain
I have used this chair at work for three years and as such am very familiar with it. It's the only chair that I can sit in for more than two hours without back pain. It's better than any of the many other office or gaming chairs I've used. It took me a long time to buy one for my house strictly due to the price, but after one too many days working from home I made the commitment and it was worth it! This came to me preassembled and almost too well packaged. I probably spent 40 minutes getting it out if the box and popping all of the bags of air. I like the chair but it doesn’t match the description. It was also described as open box (new) but it isn’t a new chair and it came damaged. Buyer beware- you must pay return shipping if you don’t like it’s condition which will cost a fortune if you can find a shipper

I was concerned after ordering that a few of the reviews mentioned these chairs as being well worn. Mine showed up and is in great condition. 5/5 for the price. HOWEVER, it seems it was cleaned by lysol wipes on the arm rests to cover up a distinct cat smell. Like it was in a little box or something.
