This is a renewed/reconditioned chair. The armrest pads are worn smooth on the front. Armrest pads were very sticky/dirty; turned my cleaning cloth brown. They used some kind of plastic reconditioner chemical on the Y-shaped lumbar support bracket, when I cleaned it, it revealed the plastic was very aged and chalky in appearance. The chair smelled funny. Foam under the front of the seat pan is partially deteriorated and kind of nasty. Otherwise, the chair seems to function as expected. I've had a few other chairs, (Steelcase, Aeron). This is my favorite, it looks great, assembly was really easy. I added some blue loctite to the bolts that hold the back on. Previous reviews have stated they come loose occasionally.
