The flat design, with a height of only 4", gives high maneuverability and ensures precise and efficient grinding performance. This small and lightweight sander is equipped with a brushless motor and is particularly suitable for sanding profiles and hard-to-reach areas. The optimized ergonomics allow for a comfortable grip. Got this for smaller pieces, hard to reach places and corners. Have been using the Deros for a couple of years now and this is virtually the same approach. Build quality, light weight design, center of gravity over the pad and minimal vibration where you hold it - all the same as the Deros. A pleasant surprise was the bottom plate that came with it that has cutouts to fit into a systainer. ive used many brands of sanders but mirka is the best. this is my second one, ive also got a deros. this sander is very smooth and quiet running with less vibration. i like that it's also low profile so it fits your hand very well. some dont like the paddle switch but it doesn't bother me at all. dust collection is excellent. i highly recommend mirka sanders. ... show more

pros: quiet! even with a extractor or shop vac, 1/2-2/3 less noise level than running a orbit sander with vac lightweight! less than my corded dewalt, ryobi and makita finish sanders comfortable to hold for long periods of time scratch pattern is decent. although my finish sanders have a tighter scratch pattern but compared to a orbital sander this one is better cons expensive. compared to most brands that you find at the hardware store $600 vs $50-150 doesnt come with a hose attachment or a carry case even my cheap $50 dewalt sander came with a carry bag.. expensive accessories $35 for a hose adapter cheap plastic hose $70 another thing i dont like. aggressive scratch pattern even at 3mm was a lot closer to my orbit sander than a finishing sander. even tho they advertise this as a 3mm i would say its closer to a 5mm. be careful around the corners of your surfaces. i accidently touched the cornet on a cabinet with the front edge and it dinged up the surface very fast. i wish i had taken pictures. ended up using some wood filler to fix the dings used it for a few days no issues with overheating yet final thoughts. there are cheaper options on the market. but noise is my biggest factor. when running this tool with an extractor. the noise is prob 1/2 or even 2/3 quieter than a standard orbit sander. i mainly use this tool in a customers house so the noise level is a huge factor for me. currently have it paired with my dewalt stealthsonic wet dry vac. will probably get the mirka extractor within the next few months to compare the only thing i would want to do is compare it to a festool and ekasand perhaps in the future i may end up spending the money and do a proper comparison ... show more

I love this sander, I first purchased the 5” RO and it was only a few days later when I wanted another mirka sander, this thing with soft backing pads is incredible for sanding sealer/primer even in door corners and the speed control is great, very gentle and doesn’t burn edges.

The media could not be loaded. I really like the low vibration of the sander however, I am very disappointed that for the price it came in a cardboard box. I was hoping for it to come in a sustainer.

Best fine finish sander I have ever used. I use festool RO 150/90 but I use this for my fine finish work. I love my festool sanders but this gets into 90 corners much better. This gives an outstanding fine finish. If you are looking for an aggressive sander this is not for you. Between coats of spray applications with an interface pad is where this really pays its worth. Finding the correct sanding nets and accessories was difficult as it needs 3x5 and most nets/pads online are 2.75x4.75. You need the 3x5. This is the most ergonomic sander I have ever used. It hooks up with ease to my CT MIDI II. I like using the app to check my RPMs to make sure I won't tear through coatings. To summarize....best fine finish sander Ive used, but go with festool if you want an aggressive sander for flattening (ROTEX, random orbit). This is far superior for fine finish work vs. the ROTEX 90/150 combo. ... show more
