I bought these to use as outdoor uplighting around my house. These lights were super easy to assemble and install - the whole process took less than 10 minutes. The lights are very bright (there are three settings via a button on the back of the light) and they illuminate the house very well. Only thing to be aware of is that if it's a cloudy, overcast day, the lights will not charge enough to stay lit until dawn. I live in a sunny, warm climate and have found that on a normal sunny day, the light batteries will charge enough so that the lights will remain on all night and that the power runs out just before dawn. My best advice would be to make sure that when you place the lights, they are not obscured AT ALL by any plants or shrubs and that the solar cells are as unobstructed as possible so as to absorb as much sunlight as possible. Overall, though, I am very happy with these lights and I recommend them for anyone wanting easy-to-install solar-powered lighting around their home. ... show more

I live in the Midwest and sometimes sunlight is at a minimum during some winter days. These solars still start up every night and provide plenty of light for 5-6 hours. They do periodically have to be replaced. Snow, rain and summer sun take a toll. The first one may quit after 18 months. And the last one may last 3 years. I do not replace all of them at the same time. When a couple start to quit, I buy another box and replace as needed. ... show more

These lights have a horrible on time of about an hour max. I live in SOCAL, and we get ample amounts of direct, clear sun, and in no way, shape, or form are these acceptable since they dim out after an hour.
